I've seen this tree many times, but never stopped to learn more about it. I was waiting to pick up a friend at the train station, so I had a chance to check it out. It really is an amazing tree and there are several informational plaques about the tree and other history of the area that are worth the read. You can actually park right by the tree by entering the train station parking lot. Parking is free for the first 75 minutes, which is more than enough time to take a walk around and marvel at this wonder of the plant world.
