Don't go there unless you like fraternizing with drunks or shady people.

“A Tree Not To Be Missed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2012

I've seen this tree many times, but never stopped to learn more about it. I was waiting to pick up a friend at the train station, so I had a chance to check it out. It really is an amazing tree and there are several informational plaques about the tree and other history of the area that are worth the read. You can actually park right by the tree by entering the train station parking lot. Parking is free for the first 75 minutes, which is more than enough time to take a walk around and marvel at this wonder of the plant world.

“Magnificent old tree, a landmark”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2012

This massive tree is a little hard to find (just west of the downtown railway station on a dead-end street), but it's well worth the diversion. It's seen a lots of years, and has a very interesting history, which is provided on plaques surrounding it. It provides a quiet and shady spot to relax or read.

“Simply amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

It's rare a single tree can demand this much attention. It's sheer size commands respect and shows that even individual pieces of nature are worth preserving.

Parking is available inadjacent lots or free on the street. Mind the napping transients in the area.
