We've stayed at many other IHG brands (especially HIE's), but this was our first time at an Indigo. It was a last-minute reservation so we were a little nervous, but it's a good value for the location two blocks from the beach. We had a small snafu at check-in but the front desk staff and manager went above and beyond to resolve it to our full satisfaction. We really liked the artwork installed at the hotel, and it's general "hip but not too hip" style. The rooms are cozy but very well designed and outfitted.

We only live a hundred miles up the road in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara is a day trip. This time we wanted to wind our day down visiting some wineries and did not want to drive back the same day. So, location was important to be somewhere we could park the car and head off on foot. This is the ideal location. Located on State street, two blocks to the beach and then two blocks into the main part of State street. It is also next to the train station so next time we will take the train. As some of the other reviews said, the rooms are small, the bathroom is small but do not let this discourage you unless you want something different (check their website). It has a European and South Beach feel, artsy and a great vibe. We had our pug he loved it and they loved him. Staff welcome you warmly every time you entered. We are going to make this a regular get away.

I loved the decor and style of this hotel. It didn't matter that we were next to train tracks and could hear the train. What does matter is that the walls are thin and you can hear people in the hall, the air running in your neighbors room and the tv in your other neighbors room. There is a pair of complimentary ear plugs avail.
Overall I'd stay again on the second floor preferably corner room!
