“View is lovely”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We stopped here since we were staying at the Harbor View Inn.

The tasting room is on the second story of one of the shop buildings and overlooks the ocean which makes for a lovely view. The wines are good (they offer two different flights: whites or reds) and are fairly inexpensive.

The service is mixed. There is one young lady who went out of her way to explain to us the different types of barrels used for our first 2 tastings. The 3rd tasting was poured by a Ms Sourpuss older lady who, when we asked her to tell us a little about this wine, simply replied back and said "It's another white. Try it.". Immediately turned us off to her, and we made sure that the rest of our pours were by the other young lady (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name).

anyhoo - nice afternoon stop, but I don't think I'd go back.

“Go for the view not the wine”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

After a fun walk along the Urban Wine Trail (must do!) we landed here for our final stop. Walked up the flight of stairs to the hiddent asting room on the back of some souvenir stores. The view is absolutely lovely as described, but the wine left much to be desired. We seleted the general tasting list, which gave us 5 wines for $10 - very fair. Perhaps if I upgraded to the $20 option the wines would have been better.

Only 3 or so tables available on the deck so don't bank on being able to sit. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quick walk up Stearns Wharf/SB Pier on a warm day. Just don't plan on spending to much time actually tasting or drinking the wine.

“Wine and a beautiful ocean view!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

While staying in Santa Barbara we decided to walk on the pier and discovered the Deep Sea Wine tasting room. Located on the second story of one of the shops was a wine tasting bar with a patio overlooking the ocean. We shared a tasting while watching the dolphins and listening to some great music. The wine was very good and the pours generous.

“Great wines and fantastic setting”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We first visited them last year, and didn't know Deep Sea/Conway Wines had leased the space formerly occupied by a generic wine tasting facility. We enjoyed their wines, service, and ambiance so much we joined their wine club on first visit. We visit at least once a month and highly recommend you enjoy them as well.

“Wine and sea, how good can it be?”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Deep Sea Wine is a Conway Family winerey. And "family" is the key here. The people make you feel like you've just stepped into your living room, with a good book and a fine glass of wine. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The pours are generous enough that you can actually tast the wine. And the wine.. amazing! I am red person and these wine are so full bodied, with wonderful aromas and color, they are just begging to compliment a hearty meal. I was told very nicely that although I did prefer red and should at least try the chardonay, because I would be surprised, and surprised I was. Fruity, clean, crisp...perfect on one of Santa Barbara hot summer days. My favoriate part of this whole winery experience is the view. Grab a glass of wine and sit out on their deck made to loop like a ship and enjoy the birds, the sea the sunset and peace. Just the waves, breeze and a glass of wonderful wine. The winery on located on Stern Warf about halfway down when the shops begin on the left. It is up on the second floor. The staircase is located inside the courtyard. Make Deep Sea your next stop!
