“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

Not too clean, service was slow, food was fair to bad. Had no expeditors that day which was a big issue. Drinks were fair but bar limited. Not recommended.

“El Torito's going downhill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

We are from an area that doesn't have El Torito's Restaurants and had fondly enjoyed them during a 2 year stay in San Diego in the 90's. We stopped at the El Torito's in Santa Barbara during a recent trip expecting a fantastic meal like we remembered and were sorely dissappointed. We both ordered the Chicken and Sour Cream Enchiladas which were highly recommended by the server. The food came out almost immediately, which tells me that it was sitting around for who knows how long in a warmer, the portion was small and the tortillas were spongey. The server was inattentive and the restaurant was almost empty. Next time were are in a area that has El Torito's Restaurants we will try again and if it is bad we are done with them.

“Yummy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012 via mobile

Great food, service, and atmosphere!!! I def can't see why gave it "poor ratings". We eat Mexican at least 1x at home and this was terrific! The homemade salsa is the best I ever had!!

“Good authentic style Mexican food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2012

Food was quite good. We live in AZ, so Mexican food restaurants are plentiful. Went to this place for an early lunch and have to say was pleasently suprised. Its authentic style, not neccisarily authentic though. Great chips and slasa, we shared some enchiladas and a carne asada quesedilla which where both very good. Looked like they had good margarita's as well, but we were driving up the coast that day so didn't get the chance to try one. Staff was very friendly, but was suprised how slow the service was considering there were only 5 or 6 tables with people. Would go back again if in the area.
