What is not to love??? Best Blueberry Wheat Germ Pancakes and eggs....Best Coffee (which I ended up buying a pound it was sooooo good) My sister loved her Huevos Rancheros and the bacon was excellent as was anything that came to our table - including the service. Loved it and would HIGHLY recommend to others.

Thank Carla S

This is where locals come to have a good hearty meal and awesome Bloody Marys. The pancakes are the best, fluffy, moist and hot. The omelets are huge and all the breakfast specials are great. My favorites are the chicken fried steak, louisiana hot links, and ham steak breakfasts. I get the hash browns but the home fries are great too. Don't miss the home made biscuits, jam, and Bloody Marys either all the best.

Esau's in Santa Barbara, and Carp', is a surf cafe that is a throw back to the 60's and 70's. The surf memorabilia on the wall, and surf movies are interesting in themselves. But the food is gastronomically great. Every time I go back I keep getting a shock, its consistently amazing, but you will need to join 'Jenny Craig' if you eat here more than once! Even once will mean an extra hole in the belt, but it is so worth it! And to add icing on the cake, its really priced to enjoy!

Locals recommended Esau's for breakfast and since it was a weekday after 9 am, we had no wait. Food was very good and portions large. I had cheese scrambled eggs and grits that were excellent....best grits I have had in a while. The included toast order was one piece of toast, but the rest was enough. One member of our party of 4 had the blueberry pancakes with wheat germ and could not finish the whole meal. The corned beef hash was made with brisket corned beef, which is far better than corned beef round. They also offered a nice selection of hot teas.
