“Refreshing and reliable”

Having lived in Paris as a student, I had eaten a lot of Vietnamese food, and missed it in Santa Barbara. So when Saigon opened on Milpas, we became regulars. Still find it convenient when we are downtown or at Five Points. The pho are good eaten in the restaurant, but don't travel we'll. whereas spring rolls, papaya salad, and dry noodle dishes can make a fine picnic. Not fancy but always fresh and tasty.

“good Vietnamese”

I love the pho soup and the cold rice noodle dish (can't remember the name). Decent prices but you get more food for your money at the Milpas location.

“AMERICANIZED VIETNAMESE FOOD”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2012

It's called Saigon In & Out, and after eating there several times, I'd rather be out than in. The Vietnamese food is just okay. Perhaps they have Americanized this exotic cuisine to satisfy a larger audience.

Note that the portions are skimpy, so you'll have to order more dishes...which hurts the restaurant from a value point of view.

Pleasant people, decent ambiance, but I wish the food was more authentic.
