“Interesting food”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

We've eaten at Jane twice and enjoyed both meals. After the first we would have rated it 5 stars, but our latest visit wasn't quite as outstanding. We also were bothered more by the high noise level. The food was very good. My husband had a fish special and I had the duck.

“Terrific setting and food”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We requested one of the three tables on the balcony and enjoyed a delicious meal including coconut prawns, blackberry/ginger duck, and veal marsala accompanied by a local syrah, Ethan Vineyards. The service and food were outstanding.

“Just Good People”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Warm environment with the feel of a refurbished pool hall. Standard American menu, with variety. Everything our party of three (two) had ranged from tasty to best-in-class.
But here's what made the evening special: one of our party had the vapors and he or he and one other, taking turns, kept leaving to walk around the block. All this added at least an hour and a half to the time we were there with the result that the staff had to do some clever shuffling of the other patrons. The waitress, and other servers, could not have been less impatient or more welcoming to the usual sole sitting remnant of our party. When the malaise became tolerable and the entire party finally was able to order, we were never made to remember how inconsiderate we had been during the prologue. This restaurant turned what should have been a bad memory into a good one.
HINT: If you go alone, or as a couple no longer in heat, you might consider asking to sit at the long dining hall table. Those who did apparently kept making new friends as it filled up.

“Quality food, service and atmosphere”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Quiet and understated from the outside, this is a warm and friendly little restaurant with an excellent menu. Service was quick and efficient without being pushy. Wife had the coconut cake which apparently was a house speciality - she still hasn't stopped raving about it so take it that it was very good!

“Neighborhood Gen”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We tried this restaurant based on reviews on this site, and we were certainly glad we did! Jane is a bistro style place with both indoor and outdoor seating, and they serve both lunch and dinner. We were there for lunch, but we decided to have our main meal of the day at that time. So I had the sea bass with a lemon caper sauce special served over a yummy white bean mixture. My husband started with the red onion rings and then had whitefish with a cucumber dill sauce. Both were excellent... flavorful and beautifully presented. We had wine by the glass, and there were lots of choices, most from local wineries in the area. We didn't have room for the well-reviewed coconut cake, but it sure looked yummy passing by. The folks who own this place also own Montecito Cafe where we have eaten many times on our visits, and we will most definitely continue to patronize both of them in the future for their fine fare.
