“Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

This was our second time staying at the Eagle Inn and it was just as perfect as the first! We stayed for 6 nights in August. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and our room was ready. The inn and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a second floor room which had a balcony and a fireplace. We enjoyed sitting on the patio after a day at the beach. It faced a side street and was very quiet. In fact, the whole inn was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We did not hear any noise coming from the halls or rooms next to us. Everyone on the staff was extremenly nice and helpful. It is only about 2 blocks to the beach and about a 15 minute walk to State street for shopping and dinner. We are so happy that we found this Inn and are already planning our trip back next year!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony and fireplace!

We wanted to begin our honeymoon in Santa Barbara because that's where my wife was born and that's where we were engaged. I must have checked out every hotel and B & B in the city in order to find the perfect location. The Santa Barbara room in The Eagle Inn provided exactly what we were looking for. It provided privacy, a spacious two-head shower, spa, fireplace and courtyard, not to mention the fact that the location is an easy walk from the beach and State Street. Breakfast was delicious and the front desk staff were great.

Room Tip: Choose one of the cottages. More money, but well worth it, IMO.

We stayed for three nights during our road trip from San Francisco to San Diego. There are many things to like about the Eagle Inn: 1) Architecture, 2) Proximity to the beach and wharf (2 blocks) and to the shops on State Street (15 min walk), 3) Quiet location. Our room was a standard size on the second floor with a stand-up shower for two. Personnel were courteous and efficient. By the time we returned from breakfast, our room was already made up. Breakfast can be busy, but the food was tasty if not a bit light. There was always an egg dish with an english muffin and fresh fruit.

We stayed 10 nights in August. We arrived by train, so we got the Car Free Discount. I chose this place because of the price (189$ per night taxes included) and the full kitchen (room 222). Previously, we stayed 10 nights in Pismo eating in restaurants so a kitchen in Santa Barbara was very important. We were very satisfied with our stay. When we arrived, the room was decorated with rose petals, including wine, welcome card, basket with bottled water, chips, oranges and cookies. What a nice welcome! This place is very clean, well run, manager is often on site, the front desk staff were friendly providing maps and informations with a smile, beds are very comfortable, nice residential area to walk around, good location, near West Beach (more a marina), you can walk or take the trolley to State Street (shopping and restaurants on State Street), trolley to the Zoo and to East Beach (nice beach). Two choices for breakfast, one with egg different every day (one day with smoked salmon), or yogourt (the same every day).

Public transportation has limited schedule so it is not easy to travel around, ex: bus to Old Mission, 8h00 a.m., 12h00, 3h00 p.m. Botanical Garden only on weekends, every hour, and the bus to return was broken, had to wait an other hour, many routes start at the terminal (a very long walk). Better to rent a car to visit for a few days.

We eat at Le Petit Valentien, Eladios, Petros, Boathouse at Hendry's Beach, Aldo's. Very good service and excellent food. California people are so friendly. Wanted to eat at Emilio's, it was closed for renovations. We were there during the Old Spanish Days, parades, many shows. Visited many attractions: Zoo, TY Centre, Botanical Garden, Courthouse, Old Mission, beaches.

I recommend you without hesitating to reserve a stay at the Eagle Inn. Small charming place with a big concern to please their guests. Santa Barbara is BEAUTIFUL.

Room Tip: There is a full kitchen in room 222 (only one). Website is easy to use and well done, useful availa...

My wife and I just stayed in the Anacapa cottage for three nights and it was a great stay. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal since it is just steps from the beach, a quick walk to State Street, and also very close to the highway, a gas station, and a local market/liquor store. The price is also very reasonable for the area.

We stayed at the Eagle Inn for 3 nights. It is a lovely place to stay. It's location is very close to the harbor and is very convenient for the beach or downtown. We staff is just great. We stayed in one of the "cottages" which was a lovely suite with a wonderful Jacuzzi tub in the room as well as a double shower. They provided a nice breakfast every morning. We would certainly stay here again when we have the time to stay in Santa Barbara.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in this great Inn, a great location 5/10 minutes walk from the harbour, boardwalk(pier) and downtown. The Inn was lovely and clean, with lovely open spaces and plenty of parking for the Mustang!! We didn't take up the complimentary breakfasts, as there were so many places to see and experience, Try SAMBO's for breakfast, get there early before the queues! Excellent! And the Brewhouse for the best steaks in California!

Room Tip: Quirky double shower!
