“Good for kids, not adults”

Not what you might expect. We went as 3 adults and felt pretty out-of-place. There are a couple of interesting touch tanks with sharks and starfish. But, be advised, it's definitely geared to children! There are no large "wow" tanks that you expect at an aquarium. I guess that's why they call it a "sea center"

“Waste”

For $8 i would rather go and spend a little more money and go to the zoo. This place has dirty fish tanks and nothing to look at. I could see spending like Maybe $5 max or it should be a attraction if you pay to park on the Wharf!

“Shark show is a hit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2006

The Ty Warner Sea Center just opened an exhibit Sharks...bite size and it was wonderful. We have a three year old and have visited the Sea Center in the past and the entire family has always enjoyed it. We decided to head up to Santa Barbara for Memorial Day weekend and stopped into the Sea Center to see the new shark show. We actually got to touch a variety of sharks and rays. My daughter loved the shark cage and I had a blast learning more about shark reproduction. We live in Thousand Oaks but had so much fun that we decided to by an annual membership. The membership allows unlimited visits to both the Sea Center and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. We plan on visiting both places again next month!
