“Amazing History lesson”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

This is a great mission in an easy to get to location. It was right off of State St so it was easy to incorporate a history lesson with a fun day of beach activities and shopping! Worth a visit!

“A good overview of the California missions”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

There are many missions on this coast but we chose this one as it is still a working church in the community and although partly rebuilt it's fairly complete so gave a good idea of what it was like originally. Threes a fair bit to see here and a a video to watch.

“Wonderful tour”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Really beautiful mission, full of magnificent artwork and statuary. I'm Catholic but you don't have to be to appreciate the work and contributions of bl. Junipero Serra. Nice self guided tour not to be missed.

“Beautiful Mission”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Though I can't help but think about the imperialist attitude of any mission, this was a beautiful place to visit -- at least asa historic site. The church itself is quite beautiful and has some powerful statues.

“Great CA history and beauty”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Mission Santa Barbara is the 10th Mission out of 21 and was built back 1786. The grounds and building are fantastic. On a clear day you can see the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The Rose garden across the street is always in bloom. Worth visiting and experiencing the CA history.
