“Great old mission, still in service”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

I liked the fact that they gave the indigenous peoples more kudos than other missions I've been to, for their hard work and craftsmanship in building much of the mission itself. I loved the old artifacts, the church, the grounds and the old lavanderia, where water was brought in via aqueduct (yes, also built by Native Americans) for washing clothes.

Nice Garden and lots of History. Something you can do in an hour if you have extra time to burn.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Great history lesson, beautifully preserved! Cost is nominal and the walk through the mission is a real treat. Highly recommend this peaceful experience. Monks still live and operate on the site, but were not present on the tour, however reading the literature, see that retreats are available, so check it out if you are interested in some down time.

“Gorgeous Grounds”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

The history of the Missions of California is a story to be heard and not told enough. Each of the 27 Missions offers a unique story. Donations are affordable. Bring a picnic and dine near the rose garden.
