“Great walking tour with Joy!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is one of the most exquisite public buildings we have ever encountered. The tile work alone is extraordinary and the historical California paintings in the Board of Supervisor's meeting all are just gorgeous. And then there is the architecture and the grounds..... amazing! We were with a group that arranged a walking tour with the very knowledgeable and fun Joy....

“Architecture!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

What a beautiful building! Go to explore. Climb to the very top for amazing vistas North, South, East, & West. Notice the beautifully tiled roofs throughout SB downtown area. Take time to look at artwork, tile work, gardens, etc.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

First of, I love Santa Barbara. Its a beautiful little town 1,5 hours north of L.A. The county courthouse is a piece of history in the city and has a nice view over SB from the tower. The building itself is well preserved and the people working there knows a lot about the place. The park outside the courthouse is a nice place to sit and enjoy life. On one small side of the courthouse they still have the official office. The rest of the building is a beautiful museum. Its free to walk or take the elevator up to the tower and look at the view, but you have to pay a small fee to have a guided tour.

“Lovely building with fantastic view”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

This is a great building with decorative Spanish tiles and fantastic view of the city from the clock tower, and the gentleman behind the visitor's desk offered a small comedy show while answering questions. Be sure to visit the ornately painted courtroom. The artwork is something to see.
