“A Visitor For 65 Years”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Never gets old. As a child, as a parent and now as a grandparent. Something new to see and experience every visit. As much fun today making the rattler buzz as it was as a child. What a treasure.

“Great place to bring kids”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Close to the Santa Barbara Mission and makes the perfect addition to the day. The kids will like the giant skeleton of the whale and the many exhibits that geared to engage the viewers. It is a small museum set in a wonderful setting with a small stream and beautiful trees nearby.

“A lovely place for strolling and learning”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

It's certainly not the largest or most cutting edge natural history museum in California, but this small campus tucked around a stream and oak groves is full of history and charm. The exhibits are good and the building itself is a gem. Be sure to follow the footpaths in the rear of the museum to fully appreciate the gorgeous location. Depending on your interests, this museum could satisfy you in a couple of hours or a whole afternoon.

“Local favorite”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

This will be unimpressive to outside visitors who would rather drink wine and be driven around town in a boat with an obnoxious MC...but it is a treasure to locals. The exhibits are small, detailed and engaging. The staff is accessible but doesn't hover over you. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours in a relaxing environment. You will learn interesting facts about the natural beauty of the area too.

“Did not enjoy it”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

The butterfly garden is only open every other year. The free planetarium movie/speaker was slow enough to put us to sleep and the entire place smell like Formaldehyde.
The grounds were not maintained well. Not worth the entrance price. This place needs help.
