Stayed 5 nights. Rooms are very good and pretty standard for Embassy Suites hotels, although this one had the smallest bathroom. The staff was great, the place was clean, and the location was nice as it was adjacent to a busy freeway. My room overlooked the freeway. The endless line of vehicles on the freeway made it IMPOSSIBLE to get any sleep. Open the door to the tiny balcony and try to talk on a phone at the same time. Impossible. Crazy loud. I tried to crank the fan up for white noise at 3am, but noticed a sign that said the hotel's climate control system does not operate between 55 and 70 degrees. Great, zero sleep that night. But a visit to the front desk in the morning provided me with a portable fan that I used to drown out the freeway noise. If I stayed here again I would insist on a room on the west side of the property. Otherwise, a very decent place for the money. Oh, and $6 per day for internet access??? What is it, 2005?

This hotel has become an annual vacation spot for our family of seven. It is located in the perfect spot for beach trips, shopping, great dinners, or simply staying put. Enjoy the beautiful open atrium with meandering waterways filled with carp and darling little turtles that sun themselves on the rocks each day. Great made to order omelets, pancakes, meats and all the usual danish, toast, cereal type treats, all FREE! We love the daily FREE reception at 4:00 too with Nachos, pretzels and other fun snacks welcoming you each night, free fountain drinks too. The price is always right as we turn in Hilton Honor Points for free stays. Even when you have to pay to stay it is so much cheaper than anything you can find in this location. Out of staters, this is the place to stay, centrally located to every So. Cal fun place. Locals, you know what I'm talking about. Rooms have microwaves and little fridges, so we don't buy lunch out. Free breakfast, home made lunch and a 4:00 reception and you are only buying a small meal for dinner. Total money saver. Pool is fun too, not deep, but gets you wet for sure. We enjoy the jacuzzi too. You will love this place.

I live here in OC and I am familiar with many of the hotels in the area. I needed a business hotel and stayed at the Embassy Suites while my place was being repaired due to some flooding in my place with the recent rains.

This hotel is in a great location and is close to OC airport - about 15 min and $20 cab fair and about 15 min from Newport Beach - 25 to Laguna Beach - and 20 min to Disneyland conveniently located off and close to all major highways. Also Enterprise Rent a Car in the lobby.

For the money this is a very nice hotel - for the value without going to the next tier of hotels in the $250+ range. There are a number of budget hotels but nothing in this mid market that even compares.
The people at the front desk are super friendly and absolutely wonderful. They are attentive and courteous and offer the best customer service to make your stay delightful. I have never read one complaint about any hotel staff.

When you walk in there is a big lobby - running water falls, with fish and turtles give a soothing setting - especially when you have the inclusive made to order breakfast. There is a business center that has everything you would need, sports bar, indoor pool and jacuzzi. I very up to date fitness center with free weights and new cardio equipment all with TV's attached.
The hotel is older by US standards I guess - maybe 20 something years - does not seem dated to me, it is one of the ones around that has more character. Many of the newer ones are spec, stucco, newer hotels. Some have complained about the age of the hotel - hope they don't travel to Europe, they would freak out.
Embassy Suites has happy hour every evening with an open bar - all the alcohol you can drink - and chips and nacho cheese, pretzels, and some other basic treats. Really all you need is the drinks who cares about the the other.

Every room is a suite set up - a front room with a couch (folds out to a bed) and business desk, wet bar, and 2 Flat Screens in each room. Everything smelled fresh and everything was really nice - granite counter tops and shower. I never experienced any problems with noise during my 2 week stay and always slept well.

The elevators can be slow sometimes - depending on how the occupancy level, but was really never a big problem. It can require some patience. The other is the climate control - it is more of a green thing - you can set your heat or coolness to some degree but it is regulated by the overall temp of the hotel with various comfort levels.

Wifi was available with my room - and has a strong signal with no problems with connectivity throughout the hotel, from the room, to the lobby to the sports bar.

To sum it up - my room was very clean - staff and maids were great- 3 star hotel that offered more than many others in the area, and like the suite business style set up. It is the best stay for the money in the area.

I have stayed here with a group of 10-15 three times. The service is excellent and you can get to the airport very quickly. There are new flat screens in the rooms and the staff are very friendly. I like to stay here and recommend it highly.

I don't believe I've ever stayed in a bad Embassy Suites. This property was among the best I've used. The staff could not have been friendlier. I read several TripAdvisor reviews prior to booking and I was concerned about cleanliness. I question the accuracy of those review, however, because I found this hotel to be extremely clean. It's my understanding that Hiltol holds its management team to very high cleanliness standards. The management team of this property clearly has done a good job of meeting its goal. It was also a bargain price. This may be due to the location, in the shadow of Orange County airport. It's a few miles south of a dicey neighborhood in Santa Ana, but certainly this is a safe area.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days to visit Disneyland, because the rates were quite a bit lower than hotels right at the park.
The staff was very friendly throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and had plasma TVs in both rooms, otherwise a little dated, but not too bad. Breakfast was OK, about average for Embassy suites. The pool was a nice treat for the kids.
If you are sensitive to noise, please note that rooms on the south-east size pick up noise from the interstate and airport.
There is a smell of air freshener throughout the hotel, not atypical for older places like this one.
The location is very convenient, about 10 minutes to Disneyland or to Newport beach. Better restaurants are also 5-10 minutes away.

Overall the hotel provided a good value.

Stayed for three days at this hotel. The rooms were not new. Old carpet and furnitures. Breakfast was OK. Close to the John Wayne airport in Santa Ana. Not much parking around the hotel. I will classify this hotel as average
