“Great value!”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

I was given 3 hotels near my destination with the Embassy Suites as the highest. I was very please with the "non refundable" price, my trip was set and it made this high quality room less than the Holiday Inn (bottom of the 3 suggestions). High quality for the price, Great value.

I stayed on a Sunday, and I loved it. I arrived at noon, hoping I might be able to check in early. They were more than accommodating, not only allowing the check in but making sure it was the room type I was looking for, etc. The room was very comfortable and spacious; parking was simple and free, access to the freeway was about as good as it gets, and the bedroom was both comfortable and quiet. Noise can definitely be an issue at Embassy Suites due to the layout; however, there were no issues at all (and, in general, if you close the bedroom door, you will not hear anything from the atrium). Breakfast was plentiful; the crowds not an issue. The only thing that was a little less than satisfactory was the appetizer choices for the manager's reception - seemed to be as cheap as you could find. But, free is free...

Overall, a real nice experience.

We hadn't stayed here due to mixed reviews, but the most recent ones included words like "recently renovated," so we risked it.

The good: Beautiful atrium and lobby area (except for outdated green elevators) - enjoyed the turtles and koi in the water feature; great service; excellent breakfast; super comfortable bed

Why we won't go back: TINY bathroom (door hits your knees if opened when you're on the toilet); mildewy smell in living room; peeling wallpaper in bedroom; no control over room temp; dirty windows (mostly between the panes, so uncleanable); $6.70 charge for wi-fi per day, PER DEVICE

To sum up: Embassy Suites is our "splurge" when in the area, but next time we'll either stay at the Best Western across the street or the Embassy Suites at the airport.

Staff were very attentive and courteous in a relaxed manner. Breakfast offerings were very good, including an omelet-to-order "bar." However, one of the four days I was there, I craved a sugary non-healthy donut, which was not on offer.
The rooms were clean and roomy, but I would have liked taller chairs or lower tables. Even the adjustable swivel chair would not go quite high enough for comfortable handwriting on the desk table.
If you're inclined to whimsy, I was puzzled to find a fire sprinkler head above the shower/tub. Maybe to discourage overly hot showers? There were newer sprinkler heads placed appropriately in the rooms, though.
I will happily rebook this hotel on my next trip to the area.

Room Tip: Two queen beds still left ample floor space in the bedroom. I thought about getting one king bed ex...

Green Features: The usual hang-towels-to-reuse-them notice was there, but only sometimes honored. An in-room sign stated that heating and AC are both disconnected when outside temperature is between 50-70F. Outside temps were in the 50's during my stay, but the hotel was comfortable.

I am deciding where to stay 1-2 night each week for next 3 month, which can extend to year or more. I stayed 2 night, first night like I was sleeping in the middle of the FWY. They give me new room 2-nd day and I was able to sleep. For expensive price, I did not had internet connection for free-not good. Most of the faucets were lose Rooms are real old, refrigerators ices, doors are not opening and closing. Heated pool did not work, I had to call someone to come end fix, did it in short time, problem was with pomp

You are at the mercy of the hotel as they are a "single pipe" property. Either the A/C is on (outside temp must be above 70) or the heat is on (outside temp below 55). If the temp is between 55 and 70 all you get is recirculating air. So, when the temp 72 during the day and your room faces to the west with the sun going down and heats up 90 -- you have no cool air as soon as the outside temp drops below 70. Worst design ever.

Beautiful Lobby and Bar area. Food is pretty good. The hotel itself is Priced right, especially for California. I would/will stay here any time I am in southern California. An the turtles like honey dew melon.
