Chapter One is a gastropub that generally hits the mark with tasty meals, but not everything is perfect. We went after a wedding on a Saturday at the nearby Old Orange County Courthouse. We had a party of 10 with 2 teenagers and adults in their 60s. After a round of champagne for the adults, we ordered calamari and mac and cheese to share with the table. The mac and cheese has been a signature dish since we first came 18 months ago and we would recommend it (for those who are not lactose intolerant). A great mix with multiple cheeses. The calamari was a bit chewy so I would pass on that. Happy campers at the table ordered the fish and chips (awesome shoestring fries!), a grilled portobello with risotto (subtle flavors mixed well), and grilled chicken in a Moroccan/indian spiced sandwich with lentils (which have always been good here). I ordered the Yakisoba stir fry and it was fresh but not something to recommend. The Moscow Mules are a must for the ginger lovers, but you may need to share with a friend as they are pretty stiff drinks. Service was very good although they were a bit distracted as there were models doing a photo shoot while we were dining.
