One of the worst organized places I've been to in ages. While standing in line to order food, discussed how there didn't seem to be anyone working at the window to order or pick up food and wondering if this was where you order the BBQ happening out front in the patio area. (No, it wasn't, there was no indication of where to order, which ended up being at the Espresso & Dessert counter inside the restaurant, not at the most obvious and logical place, the food window.)

And, if you have any regard for our planet, you will never eat here. Everything is single use, plastic and the most dreaded styrofoam. Not a single recycle bin to be found.

Oh, and the gas station, you can't pay at the pump and you have to stand in a grocery store line to get gas which there was one person doing everything in the entire store so that wasn't a good experience either.

Skip it, go someplace else.

We've always wanted to stop here and have never had the time until now. We were staying in San Simeon for a few days and drove up for dinner. The grounds are beautiful and there is a nice patio where we ate with our small dog. I had swordfish that was pretty good and my husband had the Ahi. Both disher were okay, nothing to great to write about. We enjoyed our dinner because of the views and atmosphere. They did have EXCELLENT homemade desserts. We split a New York Cheesecake with fresh berries that was so creamy and good and then took a homemade brownie to go with us. We had it the next morning with coffee and it was also very very good! So, to sum it up, dinner was a bit over priced for the quality but stop in for a great dessert.

A little hard to find, but definitely worth it; gorgeous views in a peaceful setting.

This place was definitely hard to find, but don’t give up! Our gps lead us to a point about 5 minutes short of the actual restaurant. Initially, when we saw no restaurant despite our gps saying “arrived,” (actually we saw no buildings of any kind, so don’t let that discourage you), we turned around and that was a mistake. After turning around a second time and just continuing to drive, since the address is on Highway 1, we figured if we just kept going we’d find it. And luckily we did! So be forewarned, it’s in a tricky spot, with spotty cell service, but just keep going cause it’s so worth it to find this hidden beauty!

My friend and I both ordered a bread bowl with clam chowder and were quite happy with our selection. We had no complaints. We both also ordered different local wines and again were quite satisfied.
We sat on the patio, surrounded by a small garden and a little further away the rooms of the hotel part of Ragged Point, a beautiful setting with the ocean view as the backdrop. If you get up and walk just a few steps down to the look out point you will be rewarded with incredible views of the ocean, beach, and cliffside.

There were also two small shops that looked adorable and interesting, but alas, we didn’t have time to stop in.

The Ragged Point Inn offered a perfect stop along Highway 1. It was peaceful and quiet, simply beautiful views, good food and wine. We were so thankful we didn’t give up and found this gem hidden along 1.

We stopped here for one night on our trip up Big Sur. At the time of our visit the road was still blocked just after Ragged Point but we decided to head there despite this and we are so glad we did. The hotel, while I wouldn’t describe as an “Inn” occupies one of the best locations along the Big Sur. It’s right on a point and surround by water and views on 3 sides with views of the Pacific Ocean south, west and north. It was brilliant. We had a Cliff Side, upstairs room that had a king bed, small balcony, king bed, gas fire place and views down the south cliffs. The room was a great size with a couple of comfy “lounge” chairs. Bathroom was a good size with a nice deep spa bath with shower over it and an additional sink and mirror outside the bathroom. Fly screens on the doors and windows allowed us to sleep with windows open and go to sleep with the sound of the sea pounding on the cliffs outside our windows. Heaven! We ate dinner in the restaurant. The meal was delicious. Hubby and I shared the beef tacos for our starter and then we both had the slow cooked beef short ribs for our main meal. Two negatives about the dinning experience. We had a reservation for 7.30pm not knowing the kitchen closed at 8.00pm so our main meal arrived while we were still eating our starter and our waitress/server, while efficient, good have been a little more welcoming. She looked like she couldn’t wait to get out of there!

Had evening meal and breakfast here. Food was good in the evening and service was ok but not excellent. Breakfast was the same.
The views are simple stunning though and to be honest I go back in a flash.
The hotel is nice. Had a great room looking over the Pacific. Room was clean with big comfy bed.
