Made a reservation based on tripadvisor on our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to San Diego. This was so much more than we expected. Fortunately, we arrived a while before sunset. We simply soaked in the relaxing atmosphere and delighted in the hummingbirds which were everywhere. Our deluxe rooms had magnificent views and the rooms were a good size. We thought that it was a good value for the wonderful atmosphere and views. One caution, the nature trail is very steep and a very difficult trek, even for an Eagle Scout who was with us and has camped for weeks at Philmont Scout Ranch.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor. We had #5 and the view from the deck and the room was spectac...

I took my girlfriend to this secluded spot off of Highway 1 for her birthday and it far exceeded expectations! The views of the ocean surrounding the location were amazing and I was able to take some of the best photos I have ever taken of the Central Coast! Our room had everything we could hope for and the jets in the bathtub were phenomenal! The staff was so friendly and the gal at the front desk was able to answer nearly all of my questions before I had a chance to ask them! Don't get me started on the restaurant! Everything from the wine to selections of salads, seafood, and prime quality cuts of steak have anointed this dining spot as one of my top restaurants! It also didn't hurt that my waiter was hilarious and cultivated a relaxed and fun dining atmosphere! For this awesome experience for me and my girlfriend, I would have gladly paid double the amount!

Room Tip: Rooms that are closest to the west have stunning views!

My stay at the Ragged Point Inn was better than I expected! This was one of our stops on a drive south down the coast. Tip: If you are going to be driving from the Monterey area, please make sure that you give yourself adequate time to drive down the 1, so that you are not driving in the dark. Mileage wise- it isn't too far of a drive but it is easy to underestimate how long it will take to get here, even when you've already taken trips down the coastline several times. We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 pm to meet a very friendly front desk agent who was a bit worried about our arrival. Please note: the Front Desk personnel is only there until 10PM, so make sure you arrive before then. The location of this place is absolutely breathtaking, with great views of the Pacific Coast. Also, the retro feel of the Lodge was enjoyable, too. The guest room was large and appointed with all the usual amenities. The TV was pretty old, but when you're at a place like that, the TV should be the last of your concerns. The bed, although it seemed a big aged, was very comfortable. Cell phone service does not work here unless you have AT&T and there are no phones in the guest rooms. Internet service is also VERY spotty here (but they do warn you of this on the website.) If we did not have a child who was being looked after, we would not have cared much about this, but this may be something other parents may want to take into consideration. Waking up in the morning, it was nice to step out into the balcony and see the spectacular views, though the setup with all the balconies does not allow for any privacy. All in all, this was a great location and we had a good night's sleep. We would definitely stay here again.

Our night here was a spur-of-the-moment opportunity, having decided we were a bit tired to carry on to our intended destination. While it is quite expensive for what you get, it's also a very nice place and we didn't regret the cost.

The large room had a very nice glass-fronted gas fire, a big and very comfortable bed, and a beautiful ocean view. The property is looking a bit dated and our bathroom particularly reflected that, but it was well maintained and cleaned.

Enough facilities are provided on site to meet all one's needs and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.

We would happily stay again.

Room Tip: If you get in early enough, ask for an upstairs room in the South wing - the views here are better t...

I'll be honest and say that I originally planned on staying at Treebones, however they had a two night minimum stay and we were only passing through Big Sur for one night. Ragged Point was perfect for us and it has the feel of staying at camp. There are the rooms, a small grocery store, a casual food shop, and a formal restaurant. Everything is self-contained on one property which is great considering the drive around the area. Big Sur is very isolated and you don't want to be on the road at night looking for a restaurant. The room was large and a little outdated but we didn't mind. The window was floor to ceiling which made for beautiful ocean views. We walked around the property and took a ton of photographs. We had dinner at the restaurant which wasn't too bad. The service was a little slow but I really enjoyed the food and wine selection. In the morning, breakfast was a little disappointing. I ordered the strawberry pancakes which came out burned. They removed it from the bill. Other than that, we had a nice stay and it was a very relaxing and peaceful stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in a King Deluxe with ocean view and it was totally worth it. We had a small fireplace in...

WOW. what a great place. Great room, views were amazing, extremely clean and spacious.

A one night stop over on the way to San Fran, it was slightly out of our set budget, but we needed a bed and this place was chosen. Cannot complain about the quality of the place. It was fabulous.

Walked in as looked lovely..very accommodating insisting on room check to see if we liked it...very clean and comfortable. Large rooms..reception staff very pleasant and accommodating. Dinner in the restaurant was good value and very nice. Price of the room was very reasonable. If we had of known this was here we would have cut our stay in San Francisco short and spent more time here...views absolutely stunning..10/10
