“Another must see on your trip down the California Coast”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

At first we drove by and it did not look too impressive, so we kept on going. As we passed it, we saw a lot of seals on the beach and we had to turn around. It was worth it. What a great spot to see all these animals just sitting there. It is almost beyond description. This is right on the coast highway, just north of Hearst Castle and should not be missed.

“Elephant seals everywhere”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We unexpectedly pulled over to see what the cars, crowd and commotion was about to discover an area with 50 or so elephant seals sunning themselves on the beach. It was quite a site!

“Northern Elephant Seals”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

They're there every time we come, and they're always fascinating! We also enjoyed watching the pelicans diving into the sea. It's a gorgeous location -- and it's a FREE activity!

I was told that it was even better in February and March when the huge males come in to mate and the females are having babies

“Don´t miss it”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

I went to San Simeon intending to visit Hearst Castle. In the middle of the road (Highway 1), I saw a big parking lot with many cars in there.I decided to stop.

What a surprise!!! A vista point to a beach with many elephants seals in there own nature.

Excellent expirience specially if you are with children.

Totally free!!!!
