“Nice place to stay...did not like the 'Extra' costs.”
Reviewed January 29, 2010

We got a great rate through PL, and mainly used the room as a means to be close to the bay area for exploring, but not have to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle. So it's hard to complain much, but it was annoying that you had to pay $10 a day to park, and $13 a day for internet access. We've stayed at other places and have never had to pay for all that.

Anyways, this hotel is in the Bishop Ranch business park and the surroundings were very scenic well kept. The hotel is close to the highway, but we did not hear the traffic when we were in our room. It was nice having a small shopping center next to us that had a Target, Whole foods, and several small restaurants. We did not have issues with sounds from our neighbors...nice :)

This place is not up to Marriott standards. I've stayed at lots of them and this is a dog. It's not that it isn't any good, it's just not Marriott good. Usually you get a very comfortable bed and bedding at a Marriott. Mine was hard as a brick and lumpy, sheets were fine. The walls are so thin I could hear someone puking through the wall and every flush of the toilet, shower etc. from both adjacent rooms. And they nickel and dime you to death ten bucks at a time. Parking ten bucks a day, really, this is San Ramon cow patch not downtown anywhere. $13 a day for internet access and it's not wireless, like a trip back to 1999 in the technology department. The parking gate crashed down on my car when exiting. A martini in the bar is $12.37 with tax, really, just a plain gin martini, you are looking at a $15 single drink with a tip. BYOB. The martini was more than the burger and fries. Burger was good. The shower puts out less than 1 gallon per minute, you have to wait to get wet. The closet was so small my carry on bag barely fit end to end on the stand, I mean less than three feet wide.

Nice location for several Bishop Ranch business locations. Target and Whole Foods right next door. Food in bar is cheaper than drinks.

All in all not a good value and if you have neighbors you are going to hear them. I won't be back to this one.

I hosted a soccer group here. We had a very good experience. Breakfast was included in our rates. The food and service were great. I stayed in the Presidential Suite 508-510 and hosted a few events. The hotel is older but has been kept up.

My wife and I have been fortunate to have traveled throughout the world
and have stayed at reported highly rated properties such as the
Peninsula Hotels both in Hong Kong and Thailand as well as numerous
Four Season properties in Maui, the Mauna Kea, the Ritz Carlton in
Atlanta, etc., I can truthfully share with you that the staff
of the aforementioned properties don't even come close to the
hospitality, efficiency, and warmth that is demonstrated by everyone at the San Ramon Marriott! This is truly an outsanding beautiful property that we look forward revisiting on many occasions!

I can always depend on Marriott to satisfy my finicky parents. Went on Priceline, got a great deal $50.00/night. They loved the professional, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful comfy beds and how clean everything is. The pool area is big and relaxing with cool lemon/orange water always available to drink. The Bishop Ranch location is within steps of a great shopping center that has Peets, Whole Foods, Target and a variety of simple places to eat.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past few years, most recently last week. The location of this hotel is great - just off 680. Also, just around the corner is Target, Borders, Whole Foods, and a number of great restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The rooms are well appointed and always very clean. Same for the common hotel areas. The pool was a bit cool, but clean. Excellent gym and change facilities.

The downside of this hotel is that they charge $10 per night for parking. This is a relatively new charge for the hotel. Not sure why they implemented this.

Free WiFi in room also excellent.

We moved to THIS hotel from the San Ramon Marriott Courtyard (too noisy) and were pleasantly surprised on all levels!! The setting is park-like, quiet, with full service and is situated next to a out-door shopping center that has Peet’s Coffee (our favorite). The workout room (with locker room and showers) and the pool were outstanding! If you want a special treat, stay in the Jr. Suite; it is FABULOUS! We will definitely stay at the Marriott San Ramon again!!
