I stayed at this location while attending the NHRA races and it is conveniently located. The evening cocktails are nice as is the breakfast but the room quality is not reflective of the outside appearance. Not a bad place but its time to update the rooms. Also, the elevators seemed both noisy and dirty.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review regarding your recent stay with us over the NHRA weekend. It's always nice to hear from our guests even thosetimes when constructive feedback is given, I appreicate your nice comments about our convenient location and nice breakfast and evening reception, In terms of the hotel needing updating, we are hopeful for some renovations in the not too distant future. The hotel maintains a healthly occupancy throughout the year with hundreds and hundreds of people coming and going each day, so the staff is kept quite busy trying to maintain and upkeep the building. It is my hope that when the time comes for you to travel to the area agian, that we will have already made some changes to the interior of the hotel.

At the end of a two weeks vacation in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, this older hotel nestled in a very quiet area of San Rafael was the perfect location to explore Sonoma and Napa, it's location near San Francisco and Sausalito is perfect for day trip and most of all parking is ample and free.
Room to room noise is non-existent and never observe during my 5 days stay. For all you wine enthusiast out there who are Costco members, do spend some time at Costco in Novato which is 6 miles or so away. They have an incredible selection of fine California wine from the area at prices substantially lower than in the valley...

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be the same, since the hotel is in an open area and very quiet at night, I have no...

Love Embassay Suites, will always stay here if it is in the location of our travel. We love the cocktails upon arrival and the complimentary breakfast buffet that comes with your stay. I have recently become handicapped and we stayed in a handicapped accessible room and it was nice. The lobbies and walking areas have always been very nice and handicapped accessible. Thank you Embassay Suites for everything.

Conveniently located just off Hwy. 101, the hotel was very clean with a nice inviting large atrium that is common with Embassy Suites locations. We were fortunate to receive a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite because the hotel was at capacity, and the regular room we booked was not available. Breakfast was included, and it was excellent. They gave us vouchers for the restaurant, which had a nice setting in the atrium. Breakfast included an omelette station, fresh made pancakes, bacon, sausage, and the usual fruit, pastries, cereal and juice selections. It's an easy 20-minute drive to San Francisco, and is close to Sausalito and Muir Woods. We paid a total of $180 for the room, and considering the breakfast for 5 of us was probably worth $50, it was a reasonably priced hotel.

Just returned from being out of town on business and was very happy to read your comments relative to your recent stay with us. I am glad that you enjoyed the hotel and our amenities and that you found our location well suited for what you had planned during your visit. Being nestled if you will between San Francisco and Wine County makes us a great alternative to staying in the city without many of the additional costs. Thanks again. We look forward to having you back.

I just stayed at the Embassy Suites hotel last night, and I found the accommodations to be just fine. The room was very clean and didn't have any strange odors (perfumes, smoke, etc.). Yes, the halls are a bit dated, but the interior of the room was in very good condition. I would stay here again.

Pros: Free breakfast, clean rooms, adequately friendly service
Cons: Breakfast starts at 7:30. Some of us have an early morning, so an earlier option would be nice (maybe just bagels, coffee, fruit, and yogurt?). I didn't get to try the breakfast.

Thank you for your feedback. It's always nice to hear from our guests perspective and I appreciate hearing that you found the hotel to be comfortable, the suites clean and the staff friendly. I also appreciate your point about breakfast times. We do our best to accommodate everyone and changed the time on Saturday's and Sunday's to 7:30am versus our weekday time of 6:30am due to a large number of our guests typically sleeping in on the weekdays. Coffe gets started during set-up, so the next time you are here and need to get an earlier start, poke your head in and the staff will be more than happy to accommodate you. Thanks again. We look forward to welcoming you back.

I won't rave about this place but it suited our family just fine for our trip to San Francisco. I would give it 3.75 out of 4 if I could. Great location for many of the sites of the San Francisco area. The hotel is located very close to the 101 so getting in and out of the city is a breeze barring any traffic (and there is traffic in SF). We used this location because it had easy access to wine country and several sites north of SF such as Muir Woods and Sausalito. The cost was much more reasonable than the city but we know we missed out on the real city feel by staying in the suburbs. The hotel is your standard Embassy Suites. Staff is very nice and had no issues really with the staff. The rooms are standard two room suites and that works well for our family of 5. The pull out couch should not be considered a bed except for the smallest of kids. There is NO support or depth to that mattress. The cook to order breakfasts are also a draw for us and they were fine but nothing spectacular. No waits while we were there and the seating is more than adequate but I don't believe that any conferences were being held here. The hotel restaurant was fair. Food was good but the wait staff was a little weak. No bread and we had to remind her a few times about something we requested but was never delivered. The manager's reception is also a nice perk and we took advantage of that and the bar staff was very accommodating. The bar was a ghost town later in the evening and they don't serve you at your table, you need to go to the bar to make your order. Finally, the rooms that overlook the eating area can get kind of noisy during breakfast so if you like to sleep in you might want to consider a room near the top or near the front of the hotel. Overall, a fine experience and we would have no issues staying here again. There isn't much for the kids to do other than the pool area.

Thank you for your in-depth review regarding your recent stay with us. I appreciate our guests feedback, both the good as well as the constructive criticism. I do share the comments with the staff so that they hear exactly what our guests are saying and can have a better sense as to what we are doing well and where it is we need to spend more time and attention, so thank you for your candor. I was glad to read that the hotel suited your needs and that you found the staff to be very nice. Relative to the sofa bed mattresses, we are actually looking at a couple of alternatives. Based on thier needing to bend and hide if you will within the sofa, there really aren't a lot of options, but we are working on it. I do apologize that the servive you received in the restuarant was not all that it should have been and obviously took away from your overall experience. As I noted, I will be sharing your review with the staff as it's important for them to realize that what they do and how they do it has a big impact on our guests experiences. Thank you agian for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back whenever your plans bring you to the area.

Here on business and for house hunting in the area.
Handy location just off I101 and 20 minutes from San Francisco....also an ideal base for heading off to Napa and further exploring of Marin and the Redwoods.
Second Embassy stay this trip and standard suite stay centred round a themed courtyard or atrium. This hotel had an atrium with ponds, Koi and a waterfall.
Arrived early and as a Diamond member approached the desk to enquire if the room might be ready....first impressions count and to be told quite brusquely check in is at 3pm and to come back in two hours is not particularly friendly!
Room was ok, looked out on atrium, lounge area with desk was handy to sort out our business papers. Bathroom again was small with shower in bath. Coffe maker provided but again no kettle.
Breakfast experience not particularly impressed as with the so called managers evening reception with the usual dips and popcorn on offer in the atrium. Once for both was enough.
Indoor pool again as recurring theme of the hotel chain was on the small side and more for the kids to enjoy.
There is a nearby shopping mall with a couple of branded eateries as an alternative

First and foremost...welcome to the area. Marin County is a wonderful place to live! I appreciate you taking the time to write your review about your recent stay with us. I do apologize that you were not able to check-in early and that the Front Desk Agent was abrupt when you inquired if you could. That should not have happened. I plan on speaking with the Front Desk Team and sharing your comment with them. Sometimes it resonants better when they hear it from someone else. I was happy to read that you found the hotel comfortable and in a good location for what you needed to do. In terms of our breakfast and evening reception, I wish that you would have taken advantage of them for more then a day, as the breakfast is cooked to order and we change out our light snacks each day for the evening reception, so their is variety. It is my hope that you found a home to your liking and that you enjoy all that Marin has to offer. Thank you again for your review.
