“Great place for long term stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2012

We stayed here for 10 nights and really enjoyed our stay. It was great having a bedroom and separate living area. The beds were reasonably comfortable and we had a quiet room in the corner on the 4th floor.
The breakfast was excellent.....they really know how to make great omelets, and there were plenty of things to choose from.
Our only minor complaint was that the toilets flushed so loudly you could hear them in the rooms nearby, which sometimes woke us up.
Overall though this really was a great place.

Arrived at 13:45, Feb 25, at the restaurant which was half empty, was told the wait would be 20 min. Came back at 14:05 and was seated. Still only ca. six tables with guests. Received 2 menues for the six of us, waited another 20 min for server to take orders, 15 min later waiter states they are out of potatoes (huh?) 15 min after that four of our orders arrived, 10 min after that the last two of us got served. While the food was good the services is beyond terrible. No apologies, not a word as to while it took over one hour to serve 6 people, 4 salads, 1 hamburger (patty only, no potato, remember they run out) 1 order of crab cake.

Service was bad last year at this time and has only gone downhill from there.

I would recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Marin County. It's near the freeway but not next to it so it's quiet. The hotel itself has what a traveler needs. There is a nice restaurant and bar and the hotel has an open feel to it. I would definitely stay there again.

As a Diamond Member and owner of 9 travel agency locations, I am very familiar with the Embassy Suites product. I was well aware of the "aging" property and selected it based only on the amenities since I was traveling with family.
It took a while at check in to be greeted. No warm welcome. The room was tired but I already knew that going in. Moldy window with water damage (room 450). The employees seemed to be tired as well. The bus boy working the cleanup for the reception watched us walk away, go up the glass elevator and still did not mind picking up my wife's cell phone from the table and putting it in his pocket. We watched him from the 4th floor balcony. She approached him, he dug into his pockets and claimed he was going to turn it in. The bar manager (Karin) was very unpleasant. The next morning, the breakfast was okay but the chef (Maria) was only interested in telling guests to use the buffet, even if they asked for "fresh" scrambled eggs. What happened to going above and beyond to please your customers? The hotel was mostly comfortable for a 1 night stay, however do not expect service with a smile.

Room Tip: From what I understand, all the rooms are old and tired. I was on the 4th floor and it was quiet.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big fan of this chain in general, and this one is representative. The "motel" like feel, the charge for things that should be complimentary and the bleed in of outside noise make these properties overpriced.

This property, though proximate, can be hard to find, though in light of area geography, it's difficult to hold it against them. On the whole, a good location once you find it, convenient to the area.

The rooms have a dearth of above baseboard plugs which can be inconvenient if you want to work in the bedroom (and away from the noisier living area).

The room service is acceptable if a bit overpriced.

Overall, uninspiring.

Stayed here overnight on a weekend trip to preview some bay area colleges. Not the prettiest most updated Embassy Suites property I've ever stayed in but it was perfect for a good nights rest and yummy breakfast. I really liked that it is close enough to freeway but far enough to not get road noise at night. Room was very clean and beds/pillows/linens were great. NIce manager's reception with free drinks/popcorn/etc. Cooked to order breakfast tasted better than some previous ES locations I've stayed in. Didn't seem like hotel was overly crowed but the elevators take FOREVVVVVVER!!! Waiting 5+ minutes to go from the 1st to 4th floor when you are tired is ridiculous! Not like it's a 50 floor office building! Other than that, if you need to stay in this area it's a good choice. Personally, I think there rates are a little high considering you are a ways from SF but all in all you will sleep well!

Room Tip: Away from ice room and elevators to reduce noise.
