Fresh, Fresh fish of all sorts! Excellent hand rolls and specialties based on what is most fresh-soft shell crab rolls are particularly tasty.

“Excellent Food and Service, with Prices to Match”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We eat at Sushi to Dai For once a month or so, and are always pleased with the food and the service. I would describe it as Japanese fusion; while there are excellent classic dishes here, the real draw are the creative rolls, which are among the most creative I have had anywhere. I personally am partial to the spicy Mahalo role (which gets some of its heat from Sriracha sauce), and Mushroom Madness, but these are only two among many choices. For starters, chicken gyoza is delicate and tasty, as are the steamed spinach salads and sunumono. Tempura is perfectly battered and flash fried, and udon is delicious on a cold night. Decent sake and wine selection, as well as a variety of Japanese and non-Japanese beers. The only problem is the pricing. At $16 to $17 per roll, for some of the larger rolls, as well as small and pricey sashimi, it does not take long to run up a tab. This is why we come only once a month instead of once a week, but otherwise the place is great.

“Delicious food, just too expensive!”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

I'd like to say that this place is very nice and I like simple and colorful location with a very good table service (the waitress was always smiling and very helpful), but I have to admit that prices are a little bit out of control for a Japanese restaurant that are normally expensive but not as much. Nonetheless the quality of food was very good and everything tasted delicious, so I'm very satisfied with it, just too expensive for my little student empty pockets! :-)

“Mojojo rolls...love them!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

The titles of the colorful sushi rolls fit the dishes. The food is delicious and the bento box lunches are a deal. This is my favorite place to go for sushi.

“Monday Monday it was all I hoped it would be!”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Many restaurants are closed on Monday nights in San Rafael but to my delight this little gem proved to be a bustling powerhouse of flavors that I was pleased to discover. I ordered the chicken katsu and it was accompanied by a fresh salad with ginger dressing and sticky rice that was delectable. The chicken was fried to perfection and breaded in panko without a hint of greasiness. Very good value and attentive wait staff.
