“Excellent Place For Food, Music and Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2014

A few nights ago, I went to see Darkstar Orchestra and have dinner at Terrapin Crossroads. I had a fantastic time. This is a large two story restaurant/bar with a relatively small music hall attached. There were approx. 300 people in the hall and we were able to stand a few feet from the stage. I was told that this restaurant is owned by Phil and Jill Lesh. Phil was the bass player for the Grateful Dead and this venue is sort of dedicated to that band. The food was excellent. We had drinks in the bar area and dinner outside on the patio. We all loved the food which is generous and reasonably priced. The friendly atmosphere and courtesy of the staff was unlike what I have seen at other venues. After the Darkstar concert, we went into the bar area and watched another fantastic band play. Great food, amazing music and very friendly people in a wonderful atmosphere. This is an experience I highly recommend.

“Love this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2014

We had dinner here before a show it was wonderful. Love the fresh farm to table food. We shared a salad and the salmon for dinner. Which was prepared perfectly. Wine was good too and reasonably priced. But aside from the delicious food, it was simply delightful to be in a restaurant where Phil Lesh, Joe Russo and John Kadlecik are all dining in the same room as everyone else. Unlike me, the other patrons seemed oblivious but i was star struck. Every deadhead should go to this place. they wont be disappointed. Other reviewers have complained about service but we had a great experience. Our waitstaff in the restaurant were very attentive. Oh and have the donuts for dessert

“good place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

We enjoyed a fun night here. Really tasty, simple food, friendly patrons and lovely live classical ensemble. The bar looked busy as we were leaving, I am sure the music would have been greater later on. I chose the chicken and macaroni cheese for main, It was delicious, and thanks to our waitress who swapped the veggie side for brussel sprouts that were very tasty. Shared a dessert of donuts between 3, naughty but nice.

“Not what we expected!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013

We had booked a table for 5 for their Thanksgiving Buffet, for $39/person a price that included the entre and desert, but not wine. The restaurant was about half full.
Our table had been set for four and after waiting for 15 minutes for service, a very offhand and reluctant bus boy grudgingly wandered off and eventually brought the fifth setting and water. He then intentionally overfilled the glasses and almost threw them across the table, resulting in a large spill that he left us to clean up. When our waiter finally arrived we mentioned the bus boy's behavior and he responded " Yes, he is often like that!". Really !
The buffet food was very good and there was plenty of it. Deserts were pumpkin and pecan pies, the latter without any whipped cream, which we requested, along with silverware for the desert, missing from the table. The waiter eventually brought a small bowl of whipped cream " the last in the house"!
We had expected music by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead ( one of the owners ) but instead there was a quartet, playing baroque music; nice, but not what we had expected.
While we enjoyed the food, it appeared that the restaurant that night was poorly organized and managed.

While I cannot explain the busboy's behavior, as this hasn't been a problem ever mentioned before. I do apologize. In regards to the music, if you had reviewed our website it is clearly posted that the band would be The First Mate Quartet. Not Phil Lesh.
