We went to the Treasure Island Flea on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It's inexpensive, interesting, unique and a fun way to spend the day or afternoon. Lots of different types of booths: furniture, artwork, jewelry, clothes as well as all kinds of unique items. Lots of food trucks too, also beautiful views of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz and SF. I would recommend the flea market for an inexpensive outing for the afternoon with the locals.
Very cool idea, unique items and very reasonable (not Bay Area like) prices!
Just extremely crowded!!
Feel they could have made the aisles wider, there is soooo much open space on treasure island that can be used that you could really spread out this market for less congestion.
Love the food trucks and the drinks!!
Great event overall, just need more space 😊
Since my sons move to california 4 years ago I've discovered that the California flea markets are quite different from east coast ones. Not only are the antiques more varied, but everything has a decidedly multi- cultural flavor.
I've been to a bunch of the flea markets ,but since Treasure Island is only once a month I kept missing it.
Not in may though! Open the last weekend of the month... The number of cars suggests that Treadure Island is a popular venue.
Things to know: 1) I recommend bringing a blanket if you plan to eat lunch here. The food trucks are GREAT!! 2)If you are a serious shopper you might want to bring something w wheels to cart away your purchases( parking is a bit of a walk from the market.) 3) wear sunscreen since there will be little shade.
I left this flea market with a happy tummy, specialty teas and herbs, jewelry, wooden bowls, art...& more. I enjoyed my time with family and friends. If you are going to be in San Francisco during the last weekend of the month- allow some time for Treasure Island!
There is nothing better than sleeping in on a Sunday and then going out to Brunch in San Francisco - except for the long lines at any decent restaurant. At least for one Sunday each month, you can head on over to the Treasure Island Flea Market (free parking - YEA!) and have a great selection of food trucks (a few that have been featured on many food shows) that will please anyone in your group. Plus, there is always a specialty 2 for 1 drink from 10:00am-12:00. Grab some cash, grab a lawn chair, picnic blanket and enjoy wonderful views of San Francisco while eating some of the best food in the country.
I was mainly excited to come here for the food. I love food trucks and SF has some great ones. They had a good number of trucks (based on the photos it seems like they change each time). They have two bars and a couple stands with guys selling beers. Although not located with the rest of the trucks, I found a stand selling cheesecakes on a stick! It was delicious! Something for everyone.
The actual market part was alright. $3 admission/person. Pets allowed. It seemed to be more of an art fair than a flea market. While there were many vendors selling furniture and trinkets, most were selling jewelry or other items they made. It's a nice weekend activity and the view is great. Bring a blanket or something to sit out on the grass and eat, people watch and listen to music.
A fabulous day. The actual flea market was ok but definitely worth the stroll. Food trucks were fabulous!!!!!!!! Such fun to try different things and prices were reasonable.
Views of the city from treasure island were spectacular!!! Absolutely loved them and were lucky to be there on a crystal clear day.
Definitely worth a visit. Flea market is the last weekend of the month
