This is an awesome place to ride mountain bikes and hike. It's got beautiful views from several spots on the trails and isn't too technical a bike ride.

I can't believe they are going to close this. This is a national treasure, with picnic areas facing historical sites on beaches on the San Francisco Bay. We came here with a group for a birthday dinner picnic, and were amazed at all the things to see and do.

At the beach park itself, John Wayne starred in a famous movie, Blood Alley. When I watch that movie I recognize the landscape! Quiet, serene, seaside, sandy beaches at the 'camp' itself..it is an exercise remembering why we live in the Bay Area! Birds! Shrimps! Fishing! Great hiking, walking, kayaking, boating, viewing, painting, ...you name it

I've hiked in this park for years. Exhibits in the small fishing village are charming, and the shorter hikes on bike-free trails remain outstanding. The area abounds with wildlife to enjoy, and the views from the top of the ridge are breathtaking. Unfortunately, in recent years, cyclists have taken over the back-trails, and hikers amble along at their peril. I've almost been run down by speeding cyclists several times--enough so that I no longer use those trails. It seems no one has informed these folks that walkers have the right of way; jumping off the trail to avoid a collision seems to be the only option. Until the park enforces the cycle/hiker rules, stick to the cycle-free trails and enjoy a really beautiful walk.
