We started at the visitor center down by the water for a docent-led tour by an enthusiastic park lover and got to meet Frank Quan, the owner of the snack bar, whose family has been there for generations; there is quite a variety of hiking trails, though we didn't explore them much as we were there for the historical aspect and with limited time. Beautiful picnic space by the water. We thank the Friends of China Camp who are working so hard to save it in these days of State Park closures. Visit soon and help keep it alive! The drive there is pretty, and it's relatively uncrowded by Bay Area standards.

Great hiking and picnic spots. A sad memorial to the shabby treatment of the Chinese (hence it's name). Even if they are forced to close all the parks of California, this one will still be a tactile treasure for you to enjoy.

So close but yet so unique with wilderness and the bay. Be care to not leave anything visible in the car as we had some one in our parties car get broken into and gear stolen...

This little-known state park preserves remains of an ealry Chinese fishing village and provides ample picnic and camping sites, hiking trails, a museum and an old lunch counter-style refreshment stand. Free admission; paid parking, tho.
