My kids love the playgrounds at Coyote Point more than any others in the bay area. The new "castle" playground, as my son calls it, is officially his favorite playground out of the 100's we've been to in the bay area. He loves running on the open fields covered with geese too. The toddler playground is also a favorite for my kids under the Eucalyptus trees adjacent to the marina perfect for early walkers up to about age 5. Kids also love watching the planes landing at the airport. The museum is lots of fun for the kids too, and they bring out animals for you to see and touch that were amazing even to me as don't get to see these kind of presentations even at the SF Zoo. Drawbacks are: no food opportunites (but lots of picnic spots & grills), lots of wind at times, gun shots from some firing range out there (wish they could get rid of that) & no shaded areas at new main "castle" playground so you must fry in sun while watching kids & too many geese out on the open lawn areas. At least park restrooms are always nearby. Also wish they could add a pedestrian bridge over 101 so we could get to the playground, now that we are moving nearby but on other side of freeway in Burlingame. Still this is my kids favorite destination of all.
