We have been to Acqua Pazza a couple of times before but not for a year or so.
We decided to go for an early dinner mid week and really enjoyed our meal. The spinach salad was fresh and crisp with a good balance of ingredients, not overpowered by the vinegar or goat cheese. The chicken and fish were both well prepared and not swimming in sauce and the veggies were fresh and crisp, not mushy or out of a can.

They do have a bar and nice wine list. Two dinners, salads, and 2 glasses of wine was $75 plus tip.

My wife and I had reservations for diner. We arrived on time. They said it would be a wait.Sugested the bar. No room at the bar and several customers standing waiting for their table. The noise level was intollerable along with the thought of waiting 30 min. We left and we will never return.

After many trips to the Bay area, this was our first time staying in San Mateo so we relied on Zagat and TripAdvisor to find a dinner restaurant.

We were very happy with Acqua Pazza. Our waiter was from Napoli, and when we had pizza as an appetizer, he offered hot oil as a topping -- something we haven't seen since we last visited Italy. For the main course we had petrale sole -- a Bay area favorite -- and it was perfectly prepared.

We also enjoyed the excellent wine list, and our waiter offered very helpful suggestions for wines from both California and Italy.

If we stay in the area agin, we'll be back to Acqua Pazza!

Had dinner last week at Acqua's. Place was very busy, with everyone running around the floor to keep us all happy. Unfortunely they were out of the veal so I opted for the Steak Special. "Bisteca Fiorentino". The sauce on top of meat was a porcini mushroom and it was delicious. It really complimented the NY cut. The veggies were done perfectly. We also had the Halibut. It came out under cooked so we had to send back, but the taste was great. My Caesar was a little dry and bland, with pistachios sprinkled on the salad. The service was a little on the slow side but the waitpersons are very helpful and will recommend to your tastes.

This place ROCKS! The food is fantastic, waiters personable and attentive, and if you're lucky you just might get serenaded by the owner. Highly recommend!
