“Excellent food and great service”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

I was very impressed by the food at Tannourine. I had the veggie combo which had a mix of cold mezze including falafel, hummous, stuffed vine leaves, cheese and aubergine puree. Everything was very fresh and had great flavours. The warm pitta and cold yogourt accompanying the food was great too.

Service was prompty and friendly, and prices are good. The only disappointment was the Lebanese wine which was served too warm and did not taste very nice.

The service was excellent. The ambiance was quiet elegant. The Lamb and Beef dish was very good,The salad was crisp and refreshing. The rice puding was great. The Lebanese wine was very good. The pita bread and dipping sause of Yogurt, olive oil, spiced with oregano was outstanding. All for a very reasonable price.

“Lovely, tasty food - quiet enough for conversation”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Tannourine is a lovely Labanese restaurant. I've had both lunch and dinner there - both delicious! Their mezza plate is a delightful sampler of several of their specialities. The servings are generous, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere is wonderfully quiet so conversation is not strained!!! Although, I understand, on some Friday nights it is a bit different - with music and/or belly dancing! Its location on 25th Ave means easy, free parking. And the wait staff is so friendly and accomodating.

This has been the second time I have used this restaurant this week and found the food great and the service excellent. More than enough to eat and they provide containers for taking away anything you may leave.Free parking on the road outside which is another good point

“Excellent Lebanese restaurant in San Mateo”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

I came to Tannourine for a quick lunch and left as a very satisfied customer. The restaurant is located in a street with a small town feeling surrounded by other shops and restaurants so it is easy to miss if you don't look carefully.

The ambiance inside the tastefully decorated dining room felt cozy and warm. Service was very attentive and the food was splendid. I think Lebanese cuisine is very underrated and should have more exposure. After all this is a region whose culinary heritage displays the influences of French and Ottoman kitchens. Once seated I was offered a basket of warm flat bread served with what appeared to be labneh (strained yogurt cheese) with a sprinkling of Za'atar (dried thyme, sesame seeds and sumac) surrounded by olive oil. A delicious introduction to my meal. I ordered the cold mezze plate which was a generous serving of traditional Middle Eastern dishes such as hummus, baba ghanouj, stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, cheese cubes and cucumbers. The flavors were intense and the contrasts of textures intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal and plan to be back in the future.,
