Did a nice early 9 am start at the Discovery Lake Parking lot. There were five of us ready to scale the hill. We had a nice easy pace going and did the 4.5 mile loop in 1 hr 23 min. We commented several times on the beautiful trail and fantastic views on our route. We thank those that were instrumental in making this trail for us to enjoy. This trail is do - able for many. Don't be shy... Give it a try.

I've been to this park many times, and the views are unbeatable. There is a lovely picnic area to view the 360 degree vista, and playgrounds for the children. It's a real treasure. It was a "hidden" treasure for awhile, but it should really be shared! It is easily accessible by car, with ample parking (with awesome views) or you can do a great hike from Discovery Lake up to this park. You will be rewarded at the end of your fairly strenuous hike with fabulous views!

This is a great place to just relax and enjoy magnificent sweeping views. There is a small playground that interests young children for a while, and a good size amphitheater we've used for GS events. Some picnic tables too. There are hiking trails that will take you up to this park (not for the faint of heart or out of shape -- and bring water for the trail). Park closes at dusk.

The very top of Double Peak affords some awesome views and provides a great workout if hiking from the bottom of the trail in Discovery Hills. Trails appear to be well maintained and are generally not crowded. Even just a drive up to the top is worthwhile...on a clear day it is really something to see. Sweeping views of the coastline and mountains out to the east.

If you are in the area this park has excellent views of North San Diego. On a clear day, you can see San Onofre, San Clemente Island, Catalina Island, and all the way down to La Jolla. There are also miles of walking/hiking/bike trails. Really a nice place to visit. Open from sunrise to sunset. Recommend seeing on a clear day.
