“Two thumbs up on the tacos”
Reviewed December 3, 2011

We just happened to be there on a Tuesday, which is Taco Tuesday at Taco Roco... 99c tacos were great, with six kinds of tacos available and four kinds of salsas. Everything tasted very fresh and authentic. The other items on the menu looked good as well. I can't complain about the service either. Two thumbs up for Taco Roco. Will definitely be back again.

“They could be so much more if they knew what customer service was...”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

Went there twice over a 5 day period. Once again while heading out of town to grab a breakfast burrito for the road. First time walked in and was told that the Sunday breakfast burrito special was not happening anymore but when I told her that it was first time her and that my family who I was visiting came here all the time for the special she then automatically gave me the price. Which is great but was she just trying to dupe someone she had never seen in the place before for a few extra bucks? On the way out of town called up for a burrito to go. Got there ten minutes later no one was at the counter or behind the grill. Someone had finally come out from a room and acted surprised and went right back into the same room she came from and called out the two cooks (this is why I called up so you would have my order ready at least have gotten it started). Nobody else was in the place but they had defintely been open for at least an hour at that point. I just said nevermind and got on the road to go home. On the good side their hot salsa is pretty tasty and the breakfast burrito I had after the first visit wasnt bad. They really dont care here, they are just cheap and for that you get zero service or interest from the staff. Kind of amazing cause this place is a chain with several restaurants.

“best 99cents tacos around”
Reviewed March 17, 2011

It's taco tuesday and where should you eat? Taco Roco, of course! They have several choices of meats-I chose chicken, which was juicy and flavorful and plentiful in the taco shell stuffed with cheese and lettuce, topped with homemade salsas. You simply cannot beat the value for a quick meal.

“Good and Cheap American Friendly Mexican Food”
Reviewed December 14, 2009

My wife grew up in San Luis Obispo and swears by their burritos. One of the restaurant locations is near where my Mother and Father Law live. On a recent visit, and on a very rainy night, we decided to dine there. The restaurant is situated in a strip mall and the inside looks like a glorified Taco Bell. Very Modern, and very plain. Like traditional fast food establishments, the menu is posted behind a counter, you place the order, pay, sit down, and then wait for them to bring your meal. The menu has the traditional variety of chicken, steak, or carnitas. There is no Al Pastor, spicy chicken, or other variations of meat you will find in a traditional Mexican restaurant. I ordered a cheese enchilada and chile relleno combination which came with the obligatory refried beans and rice. The highlight of the relleno was that it was made from a fresh Anaheim Chile as opposed to a can. Many of the seeds were still inside, and the cheese inside was gooey and tasty. The beans, however, tasted like they were from the can, but the rice was fresh and not too sticky. The best part of the restaurant were that the beers were only $2 and it was past happy hour. My thoughts on this place are that if you are looking for authenticity, go elsewhere but if you are looking a cheap standard mexican fair, you cannot go wrong.
