“join Tahoe Joe's club for coupon”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Camp shrimp appetizer is good and free (or any other appetizer) w/entree if you join online...Located in front of the Embassy Suites off Madonna and easy walk from the hotel. Joes Steak is well prepared. Because of it's location, easy for weary travelers to have a good meal at the end of a long day.

“Tahoe in SLO”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

This restaurant offers consistently good food and service with pleasant surroundings and atmosphere. You can find coupons in the SLO Tribune that can be applied to dinner entrees. For example, we ordered 2 entrees (tasty barbecued ribs and Joe's steak) and saved $10. on the bill, leaving us with a total of $39. including a glass of wine and a beer. The ribs are served with french fries and beans and the steak (served with salsa) has a choice of 2 sides, including baked potato or fries and green beans, as well as choice of soup or salad served with rolls. Next time I will ask for a side of "au jus" to go with the steak instead of the salsa. On other occasions we have used a coupon to get a complimentary appetizer. They also have a shared prime rib dinner for 2, including a piece of their cheese cake, for $20. a piece. You might also check out the happy hour in the bar with half price drinks and appetizers (Monday-Saturday: 11-6 p.m. & 9 p.m.-closing; Sunday: all day). Note that the restaurant can get noisy at peak hours so large parties might want to time their gatherings for less busy times. While reservations are not accepted, you can call ahead to be put on the "wait list."

“A regular spot....”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

I have eaten at Tahoe Joe's on a regular basis for about five years and have never had an unpleasant experience. The restaurant is located in a shopping center on Madonna Street in San Luis Obispo and decorated in a lodge style reminiscent of the Lake Tahoe area. The food portions are hearty and nicely prepared. Guests can sign up online to be "Friends of Joe's" and receive occasional discount dining specials and free appetizers. It is a good place for lunch or dinner.

“Excellent food, good service”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

Although pricey, Tahoe Joe's food was excellent. Great taste and very large portions make it worth the cost. The "Joe's Steak" is cooked 22 hours and so isn't available in rare or medium rare, but it was still juicy, tender, and great. The chocolate cake dessert (the slide?) is fantastic and enough for 3 to share.
My only complaint would be that the food was warm and not hot. Be careful, many of the veggies were spicy, which I liked but small children might not.

“Don't waste your money.”

Felt the food was just awful. Could not eat the steak. Can't see ever returning. Nothing to write about.
