I just wish we could have afforded to spring for more expensive room. That said, our room was wonderful and overall experience was near perfect. We stayed in the Mount Vernon room. Everything was clean and beautiful. Pool is beautiful, waterfall amazing. The staff are second to none. We can't wait to return.

...we had staying here. If you are travelling this way there is no excuse not to stay here. Its just so cool.. The rock rooms were all booked so we chose Canary Cottage which was fabulous and felt like we were in some Slim Aarons photo. With all its quirkiness it was tip top clean and comfortable.
The pool is fantastic although I could of done without some of the pop music they were playing which seemed out of place a bit. Think if they'd gone a bit more vintage with the music it would have been the icing on the cake.
Both the restaurants were amazing - in the main dining room where we had supper they presented us with their infamous pink cake to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. There was some ballroom dancing going on while we ate which seemed to make things extra special. Breakfast was made tricky cos we couldn't decide wether to sit in the amazing muralled booths or at the breakfast bar so we'll just have to go back one day so we get to do both!
We ended up leaving with Madonna Inn books and glasses and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Browsing for rooms can be endless so best to find out what's free before you look! Also maybe try and check-in early (you can use the pool while you wait for your room to be ready) as I noticed the reception was pretty busy at cross-over time

My sister and I both have fond memories of driving by here as kids and always wanting to see inside the "palace". Since mom or grandma would never stop we decided to do so ourselves by celebrating her 50th birthday here. After very careful consideration we choose the Yosemite Rock room and were not disappointed. The room is on the small side but the rock fireplace and bathroom take up a lot of space that would be otherwise used for the room. The uniqueness of these features made it totally worthwhile.

The pool and spa area are beautiful, and we used both several times. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is that the food at the Copper Cafe was overpriced and not very good. The cake is amazing, I recommend having meals elsewhere but dessert at the Inn.

Room Tip: Call ahead to reserve the room you want. We were able to get our first choice this way.

Why other hotels are afraid to use color and originality escapes me. Just go into the Madonna Inn website and you will see what I mean. The pool area is top notch as was the steak house. Filet that has been cooked over an open wood fire brings a sweet smokiness - unforgettable. I can't wait to come back and check out another awesome and unique room. The front desk and all staff were as nice and professional as could be.

This is a fun place to stay! We stayed in the Kona Rock room and it was very comfortable. It seemed like we were in the Flinstones! The bathroom was really neat, all made of rock and the fire place added great atmosphere and warmth as it was cold and rainy that night. We used the hot tub and the pool and both were very nice. The bar was closed by the pool that evening. The "pink" restaurant was buzzing with all kinds of people. There was a band and there was dancing. We did not eat there and the food looked very expensive ($71 for Australian Lobster Tail). But we did have drinks and I had the lemon-coconut cake which was heavenly.
I would stay here again. The Madonna Inn is also a great stop if you drive from San Francisco to San Diego.

Room Tip: The place is pretty spread out. Must try the pool, it's very nice.
