Just got back from a 4-day trip along the California coast, stayed in 4 different hotels and the Embassy Suites was the best by far. This was my second visit to this particular hotel and my third stay at an Embassy Suites and I've been impressed every time. You simply can't beat the value. The rooms are very spacious, the beds and bedding are super comfortable and clean and the free breakfast buffet is excellent. This particular hotel is located within walking distance of many very good restaurants including Tahoe Joe's (our favorite).

1 night. Large room with 2 beds and separate sitting room - great! Had to pay $7 for internet.

Anecdote: may credit card was rejected and had to pay over $100 to phone UK to fix, but the hotel refunded the whole amount, which was impressive.

So, nice rooms, very comfortable. Excellent 'Manager's reception' between 5-7pm with free booze and nibbles. The restaurant was disappointing (probably why no-one else was there!). Decent breakfast.

Beach trip was disappointing becasue it was a cold, dull day. It reminded me of the North Sea!

Beautiful relaxing city and a nice hotel.

Staff was young and friendly.

Rooms are the typical Embassy room that needs a bit of updating but was pretty nice.

The breakfast area and restaurant are in a pleasant open area with a lot of light. It was truly enjoyable. Lunch was not bad either!!

I am not sure if they are taking themselves way to serious or joking around, but they have created titles for each position at the hotel. For example the bellman was a luggage technician or something silly like that. Each person's title was a bit over the top, and honestly to me it seemed very patronizing to the employees.

I would definitely suggest staying here if the price is under $150

We recently stayed here for 2 nights on Memorial Weekend. We choose this hotel because its pet friendly. They charge $25 per night for small pets. We wanted to stay at the Courtyard but they do not accept pets.

First off, this is a typical Embassy Suites. Atrium, etc. First off, the room was $200. Way too much for an Embassy Suites but the hotel was sold out on Memorial Day weekend. So I guess you charge what the market can bear and SLO during the Memorial Day weekend was a hot spot.

The living room area is too dark. No natural light. The only window is in the bedroom. Suite layout is terrible. I prefer the Marriott Suites layout as both the living room and bedroom have windows.

The furnishings in the room were looking tired and dated. Tiles and fixtures in the bathroom looked the same when I went to college at Cal Poly in 1996. Towels were old and need to be replaced. Flat screen TV in living is nice feature but cable did have High Definition. So what is point? The hotel needs to get a high definition signal. Channel selection was somewhat limited. Rooms were very cleaned. No closet. Only an armoire to store you luggage. The armoire was very limited. Room has a microwave and refrigerator.

The breakfast is included with the room rate but it is a mad house. Dont be fooled by their marketing stating that the breakfast is cooked to order. Only the omelets are cooked to order. Bacon, pancakes, eggs, are sitting in a warmer. The nice thing was that took are our food to our room. Since we were on the first floor it made easy for us to bring the food back and enjoy a relaxing breakfast in our quiet albeit DARK living room.

Like all typical Embassy Suites, the atrium is noisy and can be heard in the room. Not exactly relaxing. They were multiple gatherings each night in the atrium and made it difficult to have a nice relaxing evening in our room.

If you have a pet, across the street is the Laguna Park which has an off leash area for you dog run around in. Its not fenced but fairly large.

I did not find the Embassy Suites to be a very relaxing place. Noise in the atrium disturbs your stay. Mad house breakfast buffet (not made to order) down grades the experience. I see why many families choose to stay at Embassy suites because of the room layout and free breakfast. However, this is not the play to stay for a couple getaway.

Just average. Rooms had a dark and old feel. The free happy hour was so crowded and service was so slow that we just gave up. The breakfast buffet, which is free, was pretty poor. They did have omelets but mine was really over cooked For bread choices it was loaves of bread--no bagels, no English muffins, no croissants. The fruit selection was apples or bananas or watermelon--it's California for Heaven's sake--what about something a bit fresher!? Elevator was not clean.

This was a great hotel for us for overnight. Very convenenient, right next to strip malls and restaurants, and close to the freeway. Quiet rooms, good breakfast, free business center and internet. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night after driving the Big Sur from Monterey. The hotel was excellent, huge room with a really comfortable bed and sitting area. Breakfast was excellent and the managers drinks and canapes was a nice touch. There was also a great indoor pool and gym. The only downside was that hotel is out of San Luis on a retail park so the only evening entertainment nearby is a cinema, Dennys or Applebees restaurant. However don't let that put you off as you could easily get a taxi in to town. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are just travelling through or on business.
