We drove up into the Madonna Inn car park just to see close up. Wow it was different, would call in next time .

Their breakfast is pretty tasty for the price. You could walk to Denny's or IHOP nearby, but I will say its nice to try for the kitschy ambiance. the turkey and broccoli omelet here was super large, fluffy and had huge chunks of turkey throughout. The tables are decorates with their eye-catching, colorful goblets.

I wasn't ready to have champagne cake for breakfast, but I will note that the biscuits and honey was delicious. Next time, I'll skip eggs and have two biscuits with honey!

We stopped on our way down to Pismo Beach as we had heard the cakes were awesome. We shared a slice of the Strawberry Shortcake and boy was it good. The cake was moist and plenty of fresh strawberries. All of the cakes looked divine as they are all triple layered. The most popular is the Pink Champagne and yes, it is very pink. If you're looking for a place to stop and stretch this is the place and grab yourself a slice. You'll be glad you did.

Food at this landmark was truly so-so. Large portions, but absolutely NO flavor -- and we ordered 5 different things!! This place is DATED and so is the menu. Fun to look around, but super-pricey for a lackluster meal and sour service.

My wife, two adult daughters and I stayed at the Madonna Inn for a weekend to attend a wedding. We ate breakfast at the Copper Café both mornings we were there and would have stayed another night just to have breakfast again. The cost of the rooms at the Madonna Inn would have made that prohibitive but that’s for another review. The décor in the café is PINK but not as over the top as the next door restaurant. The food at the Copper Café is excellent. The corned beef hash is real shredded corn beef, not Libbys. The pancakes are very moist and served with real maple syrup. The biscuits are served with real honey. They will accommodate special orders; one person we dined with was a vegetarian and asked for the eggs Benedict with spinach instead of ham – no problem. The bacon and sausage are large and delicious. The omelets are made with fresh grilled vegetables. The service is efficient and friendly. My only complaint was the size of the coffee cup. The coffee cups are the size of a tea cup and this required our server to refill my cup many times so I could get my quota of morning coffee. The coffee was excellent. If you are passing through San Louis Obispo we highly recommend breakfast at the Copper Café at the Madonna Inn.
