Description: Splash Cafe ~ Artisan Bakery is located in San Luis Obispo, CA. In 2005, we opened this second location in San Luis Obispo and expanded to include an artisan bakery too! The bakery features artisan breads, pastries & desserts baked fresh daily. Each item from the bakery is carefully created and guaranteed to delight your senses. The café has a larger selection of salads and specialty sandwiches as well as signature ‘sun pizzas’! Come and enjoy!

The location is very convenient, close to majority of the hotels and downtown, their food is good.
Good parking, The price is ok for the value. Lots of pastries to pick from. Omelet was super yummy, with all the options they had extra to put on. Super casual and nice environment.

We spotted this place on a walk into town from our hotel and decided to call in for breakfast. Parking was available at the back. The server was very friendly. Scrambled eggs, bacon and sourdough toast with coffee for 3 people was about $20 dollars total which I thought was great value given the quantity and the quality of the food. Service was quick given that the place was busy. The displays of pastries and cakes had my companions drooling (I am on a diet so do not drool). I would visit here again if in the area.

Outdoor seating -- a bit narrow, but dog-friendly; parking lot side (adjacent to Petit Soleil B&B next door) is sunny and warmer, sidewalk tables on Calif St side is shaded (at least from Oct morning sun). Staff all seemed very friendly and pleasant.

Enjoyed their take on French Dip sandwiches; not the typical classic, but on their own bread and with very sweet grilled onions -- very tasty -- I'd order again. Clam chowder was very good -- not just creamy soup with potatoes, but good clam chunks tasting of the sea...

Didn't try, but very tempting selection of cookies, cakes, muffins, and other baked goods. A bit disappointed in the selection of breakfast items -- would definitely go for a quick and fast, coffee-and-muffin-or-pastry type breakfast, but not if interested in a regular, heartier, traditional breakfast.

Cute decor & friendly staff - but clam chowder was luke warm & extremely thick - more like a porridge. Salmon tacos looked good but were basically tasteless - thankfully there was a bottle of hot sauce on the table. Curly fries were tasty but overall there are so many great lunch spots in SLO this isn't one for us.

We have tried many chowders in many parts of the world. Most are good and some are great. Splash Cafe clam chowder is definitely at the top of the list, especially on the West Coast. This is a go-to request by out of town relatives and friends most of the time. The main problem with the chowder is that we do not try other items on the menu because the chowder is king for us. Everything is fresh and tempting. We are fortunate enough to be able to buy Splash Cafe Clam Chowder at our Costco so we can even have some at home when we wish.
