“Central CA coast rv camping gem.”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

We are finishing up a week here in an Airstream trailer. The nightly rate is very reasonable with full hookups. The sites are big with lots of privavcy and it's quiet. There is a park next door with a botanical garden and hiking trails. It's a great find.

“Versatile park with many uses”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

I took my family to El Chorro Reg. Park in May when they had a special art show at the botanical garden that is in the park. There is a fee to enter (per car) to get into the park & gardens. If you are camping, you can just walk over from the campsites. They also have a golf course out there (Dairy Creek Golf Course). The renaissance fair is held at El Chorro Park every August. There is an annual garden festival held by the botanical gardens group that is very good. I have gone several times. The park has an area with a kids playground and a couple large climbing rocks for the kids there too. There are also hiking and biking trails that head uphill and back into the ranch land behind the park, and they are for pubic use. Consult a trails map. The park is located on Hwy. 1 between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo Cities and across the street from the main entrance to Cuesta College.

“Doggie Paradise”
Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

This is by far the best doggie park I have ever seen. It's been been imitated but not duplicated.
There are two enclosed areas, a smaller one for smaller dogs and a larger one for the bigger ones.
The big one is used by all sized breeds. Fully enclosed, with drinking water for the pooches, and lots of toys, and well stocked pet pick-ups for the inevitable.
This is a beautiful setting for puppies and pet parents alike. There is plenty of seating for the human types. It is so well maintained and plenty of activities to support it. Barbecue pits for events too.
Sally port doors keep entries and exits safe for the rambunctious ones.
My girls love it!

“Ren Fair Stomping Grounds”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

El Chorro is, I admit, a place I only visit during the yearly Renaissance Faire in July. In July, it tends to be searingly hot. But...the Botanical Gardens are shaping up to be quite nice, the golf course next door is acceptable, and the playground works.

“Great park for all ages”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

First of all, the creek runs through the park and provides hours of exploring entertainment, the playground is great, there are bbq pits and good bathrooms. Just as a warning, there can also be some homeless people that claim a certain area near the creek from time to time so keep a close eye on the kids where you are there.
