“Good place for beer and friendly service”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

We like to go here for lunch because they have a huge choice of beers on tap. Their pub food is better than most, and the servers are always friendly and attentive. It can get very noisy, especially if there is a big sports event on, when it's so crowded and you can't hear each other talk. On a normal day it is just fairly noisy.

“Loud, raunchy and great big dishes!”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

We like the BLT+A - food is plentiful - beer is cold! TV for every table view. Loud!

“Amazing variety of menu items - plus 80+ beers on tap”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

The Englander is a sports pub, but unless there is a big game, they keep the sound down on the TVs that line the room. The menu has so much variety - and is never disappointing - so we can eat there frequently and not feel that we are in a rut. And we have been going to the Englander for well over 10 years. They also have some meeting rooms that can be reserved for meetings or parties, and a wonderful outdoor patio area that can be enjoyed when it is warm enough to sit outside.

“Slow service and short measures”
Reviewed June 19, 2011

Nice beers and loads of big screens. Slow service and mediocre food. The show stopper for me is that they systematically serve short measures; for example if you order Hoegaarden, it says on the menu that you are ordering a pint (and the bill confirms that you are being charged for a pint) but the drink comes in a 33cL glass, which isn't much more than a half pint. When challenged on this the servers will point out that it is their policy to do this. This is why I don't go there any more.

“Great for beer fans”
Reviewed January 17, 2011

Went here for the beer, not the food. A GREAT place for micros and crafts. About 30 on tap and more in bottle. Casks too. Great bartender let us sample many for free. Lot's of tv's for sports watching, prpbably about 30 all around. Very friendly place
