We stopped in here after visiting the Mission. Service was attentive but not overly so. Food was tasty with good use of spice for flavoring and moderate heat. The meal started out right with on-premises made salsa and chips... a good sign of things to come. I ordered two enchiladas mole (chicken) and a tamale (pork) -- both items hit the spot. My wife ordered a chile relleno and cheese and onion enchilada -- it came with the onions cooked inside the tamale which half the time isn't cooked to order in Calif. I would definitely come again.
The customer base appeared to be mostly local people, gringo and Mexican. Not super crowded when we ate around 5pm but folks started rolling in.
Warning: no liquor-based drinks -- they serve an interpretation of a margarita but I did not sample it.
