Fun trip down the historical section of San Juan Capistrano. Great to see references applicable to the mission as well! Wish more people would visit and donate.

This was a fun way to start our day trip to the mission. My kids are young (7&9) and of course don't really get the past. This was a nice concrete way to show them how it was in the late 1800's. They enjoyed the small furniture and funny toilet. I enjoyed walking around and simply enjoying the antiques. Pretty gardens and easy to walk to. Worth stopping by. The best $1 you will spend in Capistrano.

The O'Neill Museum is a wonderful little gem to explore. It is a house from the 1870's furnished with antiques and black and white framed historical photos. It doesn't take long to walk through the rooms. The entrance fee is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children- a true bargain. They also have items inside for sale such as books and photographs. I went with my mom who is close to 80, and she loved the "trip down memory lane" as some of the antiques like the rotary phone and the claw footed bathtub, she remembered from her childhood. The grounds were beautiful, and we took a few pictures there. The spring flowers were in bloom and the scent of organge blossoms filled the air. It was a nice stop after our lunch in the Los Rios historical district. The museum was staffed by a member of the historical society. She was very polite, welcoming, and knowledgable when we had questions; otherwise, she allowed us to explore on our own at our leisure. I would go back as it is cute, small so you can see it all very quickly, and the price is right. It is an affordable activity and adult alternative to the nearby petting zoo.
