We were on our way to the large vintage travel trailer rally at Pismo Beach. It was 104F in the valley and my friends asked if we wanted to go to Betabel, where it would be about 15F cooler. It was.

The sites we got were pull through which we liked. All asphalt between sites in our area. Still lots of grass around.

The staff were friendly, the place was clean, the prices were better than many around.

Good choice. They even came out and snapped pictures of our vintage rig.

We needed a spot between San Jose and Monterey for vacationing. Betabel fit the bill for location. The Park is very nicely landscaped and the management was very friendly. We needed to extend our stay an additional week and there was no problem accommodating us.
We have a 40' rig and the spot they gave us was a bit tight for it (#83). Our bus barely fit into the sight length-wise and the narrowness of the width and trees between our site and the next forced my husband to readjust the bus a number of times before we could open our slide. This site backs up to a wide grass strip separating this row from the next one. Every morning the birds filled the tree next to us, hopped along our roof, and sang to us while we were enjoying our coffee--it was wonderful!
There are no gated dog facilities but there are plenty of places where you can walk your dog including a vegetable field where some of the employees grow fresh produce (seasonally) that they give to customers for free...neat.
The wifi is very limited..emails and surfing only and even then it did go out several times...as long as it doesn't take too much band width. We were told that the reception is better closer to the office but we never tested that. The office/store has some basics but is not heavily stocked. They have a pool that opened the 2nd week we were there. We did not use it but it looked nice and well maintained.
There are live-ins here but they seem to be a nice bunch and keep their areas up nicely. The park is very clean overall and has a large staff which maintains the abundant landscaping.
There are train tracks right behind the park and you will get some train noise regularly (commuter trains), but it is back enough from 101 that you don't get much noise from that direction.
They have a book exchange and reading room, with a pool table and some exercise equipment and there is a basketball hoop and tether ball in the parking lot. There are is bocci ball and putting greens as well as club houses and a laundry room.
The park is gated and a code is needed for entry after 9pm. Be aware too that there are no services where the park is located--this is in the country-side. I've posted pics. For us, shopping and fuel was doable up the freeway just a bit in Gilroy.
Overall the park was very nice and prices are very reasonable, especially for extended stays. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

It's been about 4 years since our last visit to this park, a park which we've always ranked among our favorites. At that time, the facility was adding new sites. Some of the new sites are asphalt parking devoid of landscaping. Others have a tree. We were fortunate to be assigned one of the older pull-thru's with hedge landscaping tall enough to provide good privacy. The site has nice trees. We had no rooftop satellite TV interference. The disclaimer regarding the provided Wi-Fi proved accurate, so we successfully used our 4G. Level required driving onto blocks before deploying the jacks. Many others had their front wheels completely off the ground, especially in the newer section. There is a cool breeze that usually keeps things very comfortable. I also liked that it is permissible to wash the RV as long as reasonable guidelines are adhered to. The park is in the middle of nowhere, but reasonably close to a wide variety of great places, ranging from Monterey to Santa Cruz to Cupertino to Hollister.

After two months of traveling in a motorhome, this is the nicest park we have been in. It's set well back from the 101 so freeway noise is not a problem. It's in a pleasant country like setting and beautifully landscaped. It has a good sized, clean laundry room where you can do a load of clothes for $2 and a nice heated pool. A 5 mile drive south to San Juan Batista is worth a day trip to browse the rustic shops and there are several good places to eat. The Windmill store at the end of town has all the groceries you need.

After speding a night at Betabel last summer, we liked it so well we are spending five days there next week. The park is immaculate, has mostly pull-thrus, nice heated pool, camp store, and the price can't be beat! We paid $38.00 a night! The best amenity for me, since I hate hot weather, is the moderate temperature at this park. It was 96 degrees in Gilroy, and in the 70's at the park. They tell me its always comfortable there. Imagine, in August we did not put our AC on once!

The next best thing is its proximity to the Monterey Peninsula, about a 35 minute drive from here. It's conveniently located off the 101 five miles south of Gilroy, 8 miles south of Morgan Hill, so you have many options for shopping and dining out.

No tent camping here, but if you have an RV you will love this place!

We have been going to Betabel for 8 years or so, 3 -4 times a year. This is our weekend getaway place to stay while towing our 5th wheel. The RV Park is immaculate, with cement sites, mostly pull throughs and full hook ups. No tenting is allowed. There is a nice pool that is open seasonally. A very small grocery area where you check in, and some DVDs for rent. They have a pool table and some exercise equipment. The showers/restrooms are immaculate. This is a very dog-friendly park. This Park also caters to large groups. It is also a very quiet park. About half the spaces are for those that live there full time. The owners are just wonderful. The location, south of Gilroy is perfect if you want to go to Monterey, or Santa Cruz or southern areas of San Jose. There is so much to do within a 30 - 45 minute drive. We cannot recommend this RV Park highly enough. And the rates are very reasonable.

Room Tip: Try to avoid Space 105 if you have windows in the rear of your rig. The light will shine right throu...
