“A bit old California....”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

After a meal we took a stroll around the mission. It had some nice views. Free tours are offered but we didn't take one as we just wanted to stroll around and did not have a lot of time. The town is small and has a lot to offer if you are into shopping for antiques, collectibles, thrift stores, old style buildings and restaurants. I recommend coming by but not on Mondays since many shops are closed.

“Great History and ambiance”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

The mission is kept intact by the church and volunteers, and the small fee collected for touring.
It is a stunning piece of California's last 300 years and well worth a visit.

“Worth a visit...”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

The outside area is quite stunning with the indian and junipero serra statues...peaking thru the gate you can see the old cemetery...but spend $4. and go inside...worth the money. Very well preserved. The main church and side alters beautiful as was the smaller chapel. Nice to walk thru and hear the music and enjoy the garden.

“Beautiful in the Spring San Juan Bautista”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Beautiful spring day at San Juan Bautista. I visited in the spring and the garden of roses was in full bloom. I am not catholic, but I love to visit the missions strictly for the beauty and history. Just off the highway and easy to find.

“A wonderful place/town to visit and listen to music”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

There are many performances at the mission. I suggest you get a schedule. There are stupendous views. This is Steinbeck country. A trip can be combined.
