“Great Indian buffet for vegetarians and carnivores”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

This is a great little Indian restaurant in a small strip mall at the intersection of Union and Camden in South San Jose. Typical of many Indian restaurants, Rangoli serves a buffet as the only option during lunch. That's not a problem. It's a terrific buffet. I was struck by the number and selection of very fresh salads, all tasty. There are also several vegetarian cooked dishes and there were at least three meat dishes for non-vegetarians: tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, and curried fish. In the evening, you order off the menu. My lunch companion told me that Rangoli is a favorite for expats from the British Commonwealth, which I take as a very good sign.

“Excellent dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

Nice atmosphere, quite place for Indian dining if you like good food and have a conversation without shouting. We loved the Trumpet mushrooms, the lamb and the chicken masala. Excellent vegetarian dishes, too. No room left for desert, unfortunately. Very reasonable prices ($20 per person).

“Excellent lunch buffet, decent dinner menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a surprisingly well executed Indian restaurant.

The interiors are quite a contrast to the drab exterior of this strip mall.

Lunch is buffet style, and has a variety to satisfy most of the time..

The dinner menu is fairly standard, but well done - the palak paneer is a standout for not overcooking the greens!

Avoid the bhindi (okra), since they have too many over ripe okra pieces in it which make it impossible to eat (chewy)..

One of the better North Indian restaurants in the South Bay!

“Great Indian Food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2011

While it is quiet and probably could do with a spruce up externally the food here makes up for that minor let down. Staff are friendly and there is load of room as we are mostly there with our baby.

As for the food, it's all good and they will make it spicy to your liking. We recommend the following.
Apps
1) Samosa - must have! best around
2) Honey Cauliflower - we call these vegetarian chicken nuggets
Mains - They only use white meat chicken
1) Tika Masala
2) Vin Daloo
3) Korma

The Nan are terrific too. Well Done Ragoli, your deserve 5 stars.
