Booked through priceline for about $60 per night. Would have hated to pay more. The hotel has a unique and confusing set up. Although there is technically an on-site restaurant, it's across the parking lot and is only open during certain hours. They close in the afternoon between lunch and dinner and there is no room service available during these times. The first floor of the hotel building can get loud since it houses a 'ballroom' with curtains instead of doors. Music from the ballroom easily makes its way from the 'ballroom' to the rest of the floor and beyond. Some rooms on the first floor of the hotel were recently 'converted' from smoking to non-smoking but the smell of smoke is still there. We were originally given one of these rooms and had to request a room on another floor. Free cookies and coffee in the lobby are a nice touch. Free WiFi was available in our room.

Lodging rate includes coupons toward $ off breakfast at the on-site restaurant. Breakfast service at this restaurant was "turtle" slow but the food was okay. They have free breakfast for kids 12 and under. Very reasonable price for basic motor lodging. Although it is very close to Hwy 101 there was no traffic noise. Front desk and housekeeping provide good service, including a welcome bag and lobby coffee/tea service. Parking lot had enough spaces and did not charge extra for parking. Although we did not take advantage of any of the amenities except the business center (thank you), I would stay there again but I wouldn't have breakfast there because I think it takes too much of your day.

This was an okay hotel for a short stay. Walking down the long corridor to my room there was an awful cigarette smoke smell, they still have smoking rooms which surprised me. The smell wasn't so bad as I got to the non-smoking rooms but still there. Lucky the room did not have a smoke smell at all. Room was large, small older TV, desk, chair, etc. It was clean, lots of towels, coffee pot. Wifi worked great. When I got in the room the window was open and I could hear the freeway noise, asked to change but she said all they had were rooms facing the freeway. When I closed the window the noise wasn't so bad. There is a restaurant on the hotel property, they gave a free drink coupon and 10% off breakfast coupon. Used the drink coupon, not breakfast. Dinner was good, $14.99 shrimp scampi with salad. Menu seemed a little pricey but it was easier than driving somewhere else. The hotel is not really close to anything, except the freeway. Room was pretty quiet, slight freeway noise and a little patter of feet from upstairs room, one crazy person ran down the hallway in the late evening but that was it. For me, the bed was not comfortable, felt hard. Didn't see a pillow menu, they weren't that great. I was by myself and felt safe, even having a first floor room. Next time I need a hotel in San Jose I would go back at the right price. When I booked this on the hotel website I had to search around for the internet rate, it wouldn't always come up. Maybe one was the Holiday Inn website rate and the other the hotel itself? It was like a $12 difference. And forget calling the hotel for a better rate, it was $50 more. I noticed they have banquet facilities so if I came back on a weekend I would ask what they might have going on to avoid any problems with party people!!
Didn't have time to walk around the hotel much so not sure how the pool or grounds were. Did see they have a shuttle bus in front.

My Family stayed at this Holiday Inn while visiting Great America, Santa Cruz, and Monterrey. The hotel its self is located in South San Jose and is a bit of a drive if your looking for the night life of downtown. As for location it was great being located right off two major freeways with easy access to both Santa Cruz and Monterrey. Although there are cheaper hotels in the area we could not find one with the same quality or with such possitive reviews anywhere close to the same price. We found the rooms to be comfortable, clean, and quite. As for dinning, please check out Blossom Hill Rd, which is located just north of the hotel (5 minute drive)and can be accessed by Hwy 101 or Hwy 85. Alots of great restaurants and shopping.

Traveling from picturesque Oregon to barren and bland San Jose, we were not expecting much from a hotel near the hospital (visiting while friends had a baby). We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room was clean, the entire place was quiet, the linens were modern and comfortable, as was our bed. The pillow menu was a nice touch. Our kids ate free in the restaurant for each meal, which was a huge money and time saver. The food was better than expected, as well.

I would suggest they update the lighting above the vanities, very yellow and not very bright. The entire place is surrounded by a parking lot, so nothing nice to look out of the windows for.

We stayed three nights for vacation in Nor Cal. Hotel is just outside of San Jose in the Silicon Valley. 15 minutes to SJC airport. Not much but a business area around there but it is in a nice area. Right beside the 101 and 85 freeways. Was nice to stay away from the big city and travel on day trips for sightseeing. Rooms were nice and well taken care of but showing a bit of age. Beds and bedding were excellent. Staff was excellent. Restaurant is very good, lounge is average. Nice central location between Monterey and San Fran. They offered some great rates and this hotel was definitely worth the price of 60 to 100 dollars per night.

I was very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. My daughter and granddaughter stayed with me on a business-overnight and we all had a terrific time.

The staff was so helpful and attentive. We were shocked to learn about the free wi-fi !! Great perk.

It was quiet, also. The atmosphere is both professional and relaxed.

A++!
