For the $300 room rate, we expected a bit more. Well, frankly, a lot more Travelling with work colleagues, and we're not particularly impressed. Check-in was fine, though there wasn't a very direct route to reception. Then the long walk to our rooms. When I first entered my room, I was hit with a musty smell. Opening the sliding door to the outside helped, but didn't really solve the problem. Room seriously in need of a refresh. Carpet is the kind you don't want your bare feet to touch, and the quality of housekeeping was not high (somebody else's hairs found on bedding). Furnishings, etc., very old and outdated. TV, however, large and new.

Room Tip: Wherever you end up, you'll have quite a walk ahead of you. This place is super spread out.

After a long plane ride, this hotel is a welcoming place that offers you good hospitable service and excellent rooms to rest your weary body. It has all the amenities of a great hotel. Our group had a late night gathering in the lobby bar and we were all accommodated with positive service. Rooms have a fresh and clean atmosphere.

Really a shame that DoubleTree, a solid brand, has such an old hotel that smells and looks this bad inside. There was a lot of dust around our room and on the floors. The extra blanket had holes in it. The furniture in the room and even near the elevator was worn. No free parking either.

The San Jose, Double Tree made my family and my trip an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed the room and the amenities. Even though our trip was not planned, we loved how on a holiday weekend we got a room very easily.

We didn't have a choice of where to stay, but we were extremely fortunate to have such a great hotel to stay at! The staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff there extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel pool ran out of towels frequently, but replaced them when called. The store is well stocked, though, they could use some plastic utensils for some of their items. There are some fast food places close by for convenience. We are hoping to stay here again for all our hockey games in San Jose!
