“Good Place to See a Show: America Idol Live”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

We enjoyed seeing America Idol Live (Cabel Johnson was the winner of the title). The show was lively and good. The City National, which was built in 1933, is a good place to see a show.

The music quality was excellent. We purchased seats on goldstar and as such was in the balcony section. Our views of the show were still quite good. Seats are comfortable.

There are a variety of shows that play at this theater; we check the web site to see what events are planned.

There is food, drinks and alcoholic drinks available for purchase.

In terms of parking, we parked at the nearby convention center underground parking which is across the street.

“Fantastic place for concerts!!”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

We attended a concert here and were highly impressed by the beautiful venue, the friendly employees, and the good seating floor plan. There's two beautiful hotels within walking distance so we'll stay at one of those places next time. We can't wait to go back!

We were very please with the venue. It was a great of an obviously historical building that had been renovated with modern conveniences. We would absolutely return for another show.

“Great Venue”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We were here for a wonderful concert for Downtown Streets. Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, and Emmylou Harris. Wonderful evening== setting is so quaint and feels so cozy. Acoustics are good and the way it is set up every seat is a great seat. Staff was friendly and the bar was well stocked and reasonable. I highly recommend this venue.

“remodel ruined it”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

the remodel ruined the venue. where else can we now go for amateur boxing, roller derby exhibitions, local " talent " shows, etc. the local community is now priced out of utilizing the site. there was a time when the place was for the local community, creaky wooden floors and all..
