“Kelley Park”

This park has lots of picnic area, grassy knolls, and parking ($6). Last month, the multi-level koi ponds were restored after a two year absence. Llittle walk bridges and paths meander through beautifully landscaped Japanese gardens provide a peaceful setting. San Jose History Park and Happy Hollow flank Kelley Park and offer diverse enjoyment for all ages. There is also a well maintained bathroom facility, creek, and seemingly unused amphitheater in the park. Lots of redwoods and shade give respite on hot days.

“Perfect Family Outing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2009

It's a heritage park featuring original and replica historical buildings, culture, and items. It has a gallery next to the candy shop/cafe and it's actually a museum. Free admission, $6 parking (sometimes) and is next to a Japanese Tea Garden which you can visit at the same time. The Park is not really big and there are about 20 buildings maybe altogether. I went on a Thursday and only 2 buildings were open with docents, due to budget cut. Volunteers advised me to visit on a Saturday when everything is open and the trolley is running. Reserve at least 2 hours for visit. Lastly, it is 2 blocks from Little Saigon so one can always enjoy great Vietnamese cuisine with the visit.
