Good place to hike or picnic. Large bbq area on open lawn. Lots of mature trees shade the area. Hiking trails are both shaded and in full sun, so take your pick. You can hike on dirt trails or on paved areas, so wheelchair accessible.

Interesting geology in the area and nice walking along the creek, but the hills are grassland and hot for hiking.

My parents dated in this park. We have had many family events here. We have even had baptisms here for Easter morning. Hiking, biking, picnicing. Alot of shade, deers, very nice playgrounds and picnic areas

This large park provides a combination of beautiful views of nature and an opportunity to get exercise. It's very family-friendly. You will see groups of all ages strolling or hiking. There are trails for easy walking with young and old and more steeper trails to get your heartrate up.

Spend time looking at the artifacts of the old park, too. If you keep your eyes open, you should see deer, turkeys, and snakes. If you are really lucky, there are bobcats and tarantulas around, too.

Everything is protected.

Good weekend hike. Many trails, even to some springs. Small museum and nature talks. Spend the day and explore the area.
