the chef was extremely careful once one of us is gluten intolerant and the other is highly allergic to mushrooms, they changed the way to cook to accommodate our needs and did not compromise quality or taste, by far one of the best!

“Great potential, lovely location. Falls down on delivery”

A romantic setting with a great menu. Sadly elements of both our meals were not cooked well. Staff level of training seemed poor making the overall experience a bit disappointing. Overall worth a visit but we won't be back.

“Tries Too Hard To Be Cool”

Hard to find in the Hotel Valencia on Santana Row. Salt Cod Croquettes warm, but I like my brandade hot. Caesar Salad under dressed. Veal T-bone and demi-glace: excellent taste, but presented on a garish psychedlic array of green striped vegetable puree scattered with some cooked nuggets of unidentifiable substance. Accompanying potato pancake tasty but impregnated with some more vegetables that suggested Dali is the uber-inspiration in the kitchen.

Small pours.

This place tries too hard to be cooly cool. It needs a firm mature hand, Front and Back, to guide it away from becoming an iceberg that could sink the careers of those involved.

BTW: Please stop putting salt on top of the butter! It's derivative, uninspired and passe.

“Is this even a restaurant?”

We only at at Citrus because it was free for hotel guests. I wouldn't pay to eat here under any circumstances. The food and service were average and the location is just odd. Overall, there are a hundred other places I would rather eat within a mile of Citrus. It was nothing more than a free hotel buffet to me.
